Warehouse Specialist - Box Shop
About the Role
Layout, fabricate and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes. Move materials and operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts and other equipment as required. Track product while in process using TMS computers and/or scanners. Help in any area of Box Shop processes or warehouse needs as the arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive materials to be crated for inventory or shipment.
- Cut, Measure and Assemble Box Crates to specifications.
- Fit brackets, fasteners, nails, parts onto crate. Bolt, clip, nail, and tighten parts by hand, hand tools, or portable power tools.
- Operate forklift once certified as required to move product.
- Complete or verifies appropriate forms, documents, labels and other information to ensure the accuracy of inventory.
- Unload and receive materials for warehouse indirect usage.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assists with identifying potential operational or service concerns, notifies appropriate coworkers and assists with resolving.
- Always develops and maintains excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Clean assigned areas and maintain overall housekeeping guidelines.
- Maintain 5s Terex protocols per Terex guidelines and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned not outlined in responsibilities.
Experience & Qualifications:
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-year previous experience working in a warehouse distribution (inventory, picking, shipping, receiving) or assembly line environment.
- Minimum 1-year experience using measurement and woodworking tools (table saw, gig saw, hand and pneumatic tools) in a warehouse environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Flexibility and ability to work in an environment that is fluid with constantly changing priorities and continually improving.
- Good basic math skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend detailed written and oral instructions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to match materials, parts, and supplies to written lists.
- Must possess the ability to learn and understand safety, continuous quality, lean principles, and just-in-time within a reasonable period of time.
- Self-motivated and ability to work without constant direction.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Requires the ability to lift, pull, push, and guide medium weight objects up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
The salary range for this position is $18.50 to $23.50 per hour.
