Warehouse Shipping Associate - 1st Shift
1st Shift team at our Distribution Center, 800 Patrol Road, Jeffersonville
Regular Hours are 6:00am - 2:30 pm
Job Overview:
Our Associate prepares and processes merchandise according to established procedures while meeting specific production, accuracy and safety standards. Maintains and verifies documentation to ensure the accurate and timely flow of merchandise through the distribution center. The distribution center/Warehouse is located at 800 Patrol Road, Jeffersonville, IN
Responsibilities include:
- Operate a hand truck, two-wheel dollies, pallet jacks, and hand scanners
- Pull and pack shoes for shipment to our stores
- Prep and wrap pallets for outbound
- Manually load and unload trailers
- Be comfortable running automated shipping stations for shipping and receiving product
- Learn and follow all warehouse and company policies and procedures, including all safety requirements
- Resolve routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to Supervisor or Manager.
- Work cooperatively with Manager and Associates in order to complete tasks and support process improvements and cost reductions.
- Operate a forklift, is desirable but not required
- Other general warehouse tasks as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as assigned.
- Ability to make accurate and efficient decisions as to the best way to process an order.
- Must meet and maintain productivity and accuracy standards.
- Able to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Able to understand and communicate oral and written instruction.
- Able to maintain positive, professional and constructive communication with team members and management.
- Must pass Background Check
- Must be over 18 years of age
Physical activities include:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, reach for, and grasp merchandise as needed to perform essential functions. Regularly required to lift or carry up to 50 lbs. Occasionally required to lift or carry between 50-80 lbs.
- Continuous physical exertion required, such as walking, standing, bending, and stooping in addition to material handling.
Work Environment:
- Base schedule of eight hours per shift, overtime will vary.
- A forty-hour work week is not guaranteed due to fluctuation in workflow.
- Interior physical climate varies with some hot and cold extremes.
