Wieland is hiring a Warehouse Shipper/Receiver. The Warehouse Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for Assisting the Warehouse Manager and other warehouse personnel in daily material handling activities including receiving inventory, preparing inventory for shipment, and general accounting of material received, whether for inventory purposes or buy/sell purchases. This role is located in Monson, MA and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: Between $17 - $21 per hour

Responsibilities:
Warehouse Shipper/ReceiverResponsibilities:

Engage in the Safety-First Culture
  • Receive material
  • Retrieve order file, verify material and packing list against purchase order, and ensure certificate of analysis is included.
  • Tag material as required by procedures
  • Inspect material
  • Record weight, diameter, length, and heat number using appropriate measurement instrumentation
  • Understand and practice care in the use of measurement instrumentation
  • Confirm calibration before use
  • Tag material as required by procedures.
  • Label material
  • Mark, stamp, or tag as required by customer purchase orders/contracts
  • Perform final inspection on material
  • Inspect, color code, and put material into correct inventory location
  • Complete the material certification cover page and inventory form, and then file
  • Record in expediting system as each order’s function is performed
  • Ensure that materials are stored correctly to protect from damage and are clearly identified
  • Give file to Accounting following Final Inspection and/or put into inventory
  • Package material
  • Prepare for shipment to prevent damage
  • Follow requirements listed on customer purchase orders/contracts
  • Perform inventory cycle count monthly
  • Perform full inventory count annually
  • Advise of any discrepancies found throughout the process
  • Ensure orders are processed and shipped on time
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean and tidy
  • Assist with warehouse equipment maintenance as needed
  • Provide back-up for Warehouse Manager as needed
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Warehouse Manager
Warehouse Shipper/Receiver Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
  • Minimum 1-year related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to converse and negotiate with vendors.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial calipers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and also where only limited standardization exists.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and/or UNIX operating system or the ability to learn.
  • Must recognize the importance of confidentiality in handling employee information and records.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift a must.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
