Job Description: Support Center Warehouse Team Member
Job Type: Full Time, Monday – Friday
Job Summary: The warehouse split team member is an essential part of the warehouse supply chain team. The split team is responsible for accurately dividing products and ensuring they are ready for distribution to the various retail outlets. The split team member’s role will involve inventory management, quality control, and efficient organization to support the timely and accurate delivery of merchandise to the various retail locations.
CountryMax Overview: Beginning in 1984 as a small farm supply and feed store owned by the Payne family, CountryMax has grown into one of western New York State’s biggest success stories. CountryMax now operates 16 locations spanning from Buffalo to just north of Binghamton, and employs over 300 team members, a number that continues to grow each year. Over time the product offering as well as store size has increased dramatically- in addition to farm and feed supplies, CountryMax is now a one-stop shop for all lawn and garden products, pet supplies, small pets, clothing, and backyard wild bird feeding. Position Outline: The split team is the primary resource for accurately splitting and packaging products based on distribution requirements and store orders, ensuring that all products are correctly portioned and packaged for retail sale. A strict attention to detail is required to ensure all products that arrive through splits are accurately distributed. The ability to quickly analyze and reference multiple spreadsheets at a time is another key aspect of the split position.
The essential job functions include (but are not limited to) are:
- Inventory Management: Maintain precise inventory records of split and distributed products, conducting regular counts and reconciliations to minimize discrepancies
- Quality Control: Inspect products for quality and ensure that all items meet established standards before they are dispatched to retail stores
- Packaging: Properly package and label split products, adhering to branding and labeling guidelines, and ensuring accurate product identification
- Distribution: Prepare split products for transportation to retail stores, collaborating with logistics and distribution teams to meet delivery schedules
- Equipment Operation: Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and labeling machines while following safety procedures and guidelines
- Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure that products are stored and handled efficiently in preparation for distribution
- Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members, retail store managers, and the supply chain team to coordinate product splitting and delivery
Position Requirements:
The split team member will primarily work in the splits section of the warehouse:
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.- this is a physically demanding job
- Ability to stand and be on one’s feet for long periods of time
- Experience operating a forklift is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
