Job description

Job summary:  To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by accurately receiving, stocking, preparing, and delivering supplies, equipment, and interschool mail to District buildings and departments in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
 

 

Responsibilities and tasks include: 

 

 

 
  • Receive merchandise by unloading, inspecting, reporting, stocking, and distributing.
  • Fill orders from warehouse stock, surplus, or other sources.
  • Transport supplies, equipment, confidential records, and interschool mail between district locations.
  • Maintain and operate district vehicles safely and according to procedure.
  • Maintain and operate warehouse equipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized areas throughout the warehouse.
  • Produce engraved plastic signs using a computerized sign engraver.
  • Secure and transfer confidential records and information.
  • Maintain and submit daily vehicle log.
  • Keep vehicle clean and fueled.
  • Report vehicle concerns to Warehouse Lead.
  • Keep supervisor and Warehouse Lead informed at all times.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed by Warehouse Lead or supervisor.
 

Minimum qualifications include: 

 
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience driving a large box truck.
  • Customer service experience
  • Valid class D driver's license
  • Valid forklift operation certification
  • Specialist license
 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include: 

 
  • Knowledge of warehouse shipping and receiving operations. 
  • Ability to operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. 
  • Knowledge of proper handling of hazardous substances.
  • Ability to safely drive, park, backup, load/unload large trucks and operate truck lift gates.
  • Capable of repeated lifting heavy, heavy pushing, and heavy pulling throughout the day. 
  • Use automated productivity hardware and software; computer, printer, phone, Microsoft Outlook, etc
  • Able to organize materials and work schedules with minimum supervision. 
  • Skilled in making and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Ability to take direction, cooperate and share work-load, and provide excellent customer service
 

 

 

 

 

Preferred qualifications include: 

 
  • Work experience in warehouse operation desirable.
  • Experience in a distribution setting desirable.
  • Knowledge of ISD 279 building locations desirable.
  • Route driving desirable.
 


 

 

Salary:  View salary grids on Pages 11 - 13, Section 1. of the Custodial Contract Agreement

 

Work schedule: Monday through Friday; may be 7:00 to 3:30

 

Job type or FTE: Full-time, temporary (Approximately November 13, 2023 through June 28, 2024)

 

Bargaining unit: Custodial

  • Employees must complete a background check and are responsible for the background fee. A passing background is required.  Criminal convictions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

 
  • The District and Department of Transportation (DOT) require passing of drug screenings for positions that require driving applicable district vehicles.
