This position is located 30 miles southwest of Farmington, New Mexico on the Navajo Indian Reservation. The mine produces approximately 5 million tons of coal per year and is the sole supplier of coal to the Four Corners Power Plant.
Job Title: Warehouse Parts Person II Location: Navajo Mine
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor Department: Warehouse
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing effective support for operations and maintenance through activities consisting of ordering, receiving, stocking, and disbursing parts and supplies. Display good working knowledge of how actions by warehouse affect other business units such as Accounting, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable.
Essential Duties:
- Receive and disburse parts/supplies, while effectively utilizing a computer and applicable computer software to record all transactions.
- Successfully operate forklift, and other equipment, to load, unload, and shelve parts and supplies while maintaining safe work practices.
- Interface and assist the purchasing department to order parts and track undelivered orders.
- Order parts, expedite ordered items, make freight arrangements, and inspect and verify materials and parts received.
- Perform physical cyclic inventory counts.
- Interact with vendors on a daily basis.
- Maintain SDS sheets and hazardous materials.
- Generate reports as needed (e.g. month-end reports such as non-stock with quantity, inventory value by part, receiving reports, workorder status, etc.), maintain records (Interaction with Intact system and to manage parts records), scan documents and store correctly.
- Job duties must be performed in accordance with MSHA laws and regulations, established company safety procedures, and State and Federal environmental regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Two-year associate degree in Business or Asset Management from accredited educational facility. Preference will be given to four-year degree in same areas.
- Demonstrated proficiency and/or documented training in computer-based inventory control programs (i.e.. Ellipse, JDE) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory controls, distribution processes and maintaining transactions.
- Demonstrated expertise in mining or industrial equipment and understanding complex parts manuals.
- Ability to operate a forklift, floor sweepers, and skid steer.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Must be willing and able to shift work with varying schedules and hours and perform work outdoors in all types of weather conditions for long periods of time.
- Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Applicant must provide written letters of recommendations from his or her past two supervisors, who are willing to confirm their recommendations and attest to applicant’s self-motivation, positive safety attitude, ability to act independently, make sound decisions, and work well with others.
- If Applicant is a past or current employee or contractor, his/her personnel file and evaluations will be considered. Employees with poor performance records, verbal warnings, and disciplinary actions that were not satisfactorily resolved or whose file demonstrates a failure to meet qualifications will not be considered.
