HOW A WAREHOUSE MECHANIC WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Warehouse Mechanic will work in a warehouse operation that processes Sponsor's unclassified and classified worldwide cargo shipments. Multiple branches responsible for international shipping, domestic trucking, dock operations, customer service, property reutilization, storage management, production inventory team, mail and courier services, transformation, site support and administration
Will interact with Sponsor component personnel worldwide via secure email and instant messaging, to include interacting with commercial delivery personnel and other government agencies
The work is performed both in a busy temperature-controlled warehouse environment and outside under a canopy. Some work will be performed in corporate office environments within WMA and CONUS while completing delivery and office move tasks at Sponsor facilities
Requires an experienced supervisor who can coordinate, implement, and supervise all maintenance requirements for Warehouse Mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operational readiness of both the warehouse equipment and vehicle fleet including compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations that are specifically applicable to the Sponsor's vehicle fleet
Will perform corrective repairs and preventative maintenance (or the coordination thereof) on warehouse material handling equipment, vehicles, and other warehouse/general equipment as needed
Position is supervisory in nature and may require the employee to supervise other contractor mechanics or other equipment maintenance technicians
Responsible for the following: coordination of maintenance activities, performing hands-on maintenance, assisting with the purchasing of parts, executing services required to maintain fleet vehicles and material handling equipment; coordinating the establishment of repair work priorities; establishing repair schedules; verifying repair and maintenance work is completed; and maintaining a preventative maintenance program; preparing and consolidating written estimates (up to three at a time) of repairs and costs as needed to meet government cost control and transparency requirements
Employee will perform material handling equipment (i.e., table saws, radial saws, conveyor systems, banders, stitchers, dust collectors, nailers, air compressors, air lines, box making machine) and maintenance to vertical storage machines, shredders, lift and dump equipment
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Employee will be expected to use a host of Sponsor's IT applications. In addition, contractor should posses basic proficiency with Access/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/SharePoint and intermediate proficiency with Word
Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly
Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License with all endorsements, ability to pass a 2-day government provided forklift certification class (training coordinated by the government sponsor), Virginia Safety State Inspection Certificate, Virginia Emission Inspections Certificate, Air Conditioning Certification, Certified Diesel Mechanic/Certification in heavy fleet/trucks, ASE certification
