Job Summary:
Responsible for effective resource deployment and team management of an assigned shift and location within the warehouse operations. Responsible and accountable for competently managing warehouse staff in accordance with OHSA and internal EHS policies and procedures. As an integral part of supply chain management, focuses on the daily execution and continuous improvement of the movement and storage of warehouse managed materials and products to achieve operation efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing a resource (shift) schedule to meet customers’ supply needs in raw materials, components, semi-finished products, and finished products including attendance management and overtime scheduling to support operations.
- Prioritizes and ensures execution of daily warehouse activities according to the urgency, volume, and available resources to meet and/or exceed service level agreement; ensures exceptions are responded to as per escalation procedure.
- Ensures a smooth daily flow of all the warehouse processes executed and documented in SAP by qualified technicians with accuracy and timeliness from receiving, sampling, replenishment, outbound deliveries and returns.
- Analyzes the daily data relevant to productivity, on-time delivery, and other key performance indicators, and creates and executes action plans to improve performance.
- Ensures cycle counts are completed regularly as per schedule and jointly addresses discrepancies with the Inventory management and Warehouse team.
- Lead user of all SAP Modules (MM, WM, IM, QM), maintains data integrity, troubleshoots and reconciles discrepancies, and manages change impacts within the system.
- Accountable for warehouse space management and processes to optimize capacity e.g. disposal authorizations, 3rd party storage, etc.
- Recommends process improvement opportunities to enhance inventory turns and space utilization rates as well as to minimize unnecessary material handling.
- Ensures warehouse systems and equipment is being maintained properly and coordinates repair and improvement with appropriate resources.
- Enforce warehouse compliance, from both a safety, SOP and a GMP perspective, at all stages of material handling (regular, controlled, and waste) through:
- Regular internal audits
- Investigations of deviations, incidents/accidents, and
- Implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Facilitates cross-functional communications with all key stakeholders. (supply chain, production, packaging, sales, customer service, traffic, quality, as well as external suppliers and contractors.
- Supports warehouse management in the development of budget, performance metrics, and provides input and support on hiring and warehouse continuous improvements.

- Supervises daily floor performance and creates a positive and engaged team environment.
- Conducts regular performance reviews and reinforces company policies & procedures with employees.
- Recognizes “PAID” performance, makes recommendations to address performance gaps, and participates in the disciplinary actions as required.
- Fosters strong communication between the employees and management team.
- Provides warehouse performance against the pre-determined metrics at the monthly communication meetings.
- Facilitates employee’s competency development, via on-boarding programs, regular rotational assignments, structured training, assessments, individual coaching and delegation, etc.
- Represents logistics on cross-functional project teams and supports action planning as well as allocating execution resources.
- Participate in the recruitment activities of the department.
- Carries out other duties as required.
- Recruit, train, develop and manage effectively the ongoing performance of their direct reports, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Ensuring their Job Descriptions are reviewed, signed and sent to Employee Services, annually,
- Reviewing and updating employee development plans, ensuring that all employees are properly trained and qualified to execute their duties,
- Providing coaching, feedback and recognition,
- Responsible to ensure compliance of team members (direct reports) with Safety and Employment policies (e.g., Respect in the Workplace – Prevention of Violence and/or Harassment).

Education
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in logistics management, supply chain management, and / or other related fields
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience
- Equivalent working experience considered; planning experience an asset.
- Minimum five years of logistics/warehouse experience with minimum 5-7 years in a leadership role, ideally in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing industry.
