Warehouse High-Bay Bicycle Handler
Position Profile
Reports To: Warehouse Management FLSA Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Summary
Under supervision of Warehouse Management, the Warehouse High-Bay Bicycle Handler primary duties will be the physical movement and organization of all Erik's inventory. The position will have a key focus on operating stock picker equipment to facilitate bicycle picking and stocking on all levels of Erik's warehouse storage systems including high-bay locations.
Position Details
The primary responsibilities and areas of impact of this position include, but are not limited to:
Primary Tasks
- Loading/unloading of truckload shipments.
- Organization, storage, and movement of Erik's inventory utilizing a combination of manual labor and specialty equipment while following proper safety guidelines.
- Bicycle inventory and stocking utilizing Erik's storage systems.
- Safe and efficient operation of Erik's stock picker and platform lift equipment to manually handle bicycle inventory on ground level and high-bay racking levels.
- Pallet handling and building for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Janitorial work and facilities upkeep.
Order Picking
- Pick and transfer inventory to retail locations and internal warehouse departments according to Erik's distribution system.
Inventory Processing
- Accurately process inbound and outbound inventory in accordance with Erik's procedures.
Position Requirements
Skills
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Dedication to get the job done.
- Ability to work in a high production distribution facility that is constantly adapting to retail business needs.
- Highly proficient as a warehouse industrial lift operator and/or the ability to become highly proficient.
- Minimum 1-year of industrial lift and equipment operation experience. Order-picker lift equipment experience preferred.
Working Conditions
- Ability to be mobile, walk long distances, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. overhead repeatedly
- Ability to be certified, and maintain certification, on multiple pieces of industrial equipment.
- Ability to safely operate and work from a stock picker with a lift platform to access all levels of Erik's warehouse storage and rack system while manually lifting/handling bicycles throughout the entire work shift.
- Ability to work in a warehouse work environment with limited temperature controls
- Exposure to various chemicals such as grease, cleaning solutions, and ski/snowboard cleaning and waxing agents.
