Position Summary
The Warehouse, Industrial Forklift Operator performs day-to-day of material handling support in the fast-paced operations activities for the distribution center in Laredo, Texas. Depenable to handle the primary responsibility of accurate and safe loading and unloading of all shipments that arrive to Laredo warehouse distribution center. Foster a positive team-work culture and work environment with all employees while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. This position reports drectly to Operations Team-Lead/Supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurate and safely handle loading, unloading, and securing functions of all shipments that arrive to the distribution center in a timely manner.
- Transfer materials and products between unloading, processing, loading, designated storage or relocating maertials, and unpacking responsibilities within warehouse areas to maximize the warehouse workflow.
- Perform Post and Pre-Inspections to ensure suitable working conditions of forklift equipment.
- Check loads are centered and properly stacked.
- Handle all Forklift Operator responsitbilities in an accurate, efficient, and fast-paced distribution center environment with priority to safety standards.
- Perform general cleaning tasks in the warehouse and 5S standards for organizing, cleaning, and sustaining a productive work areas and to keep wrok areas free of excess debris.
- Ensure safety compliance in the loading efficiency of trucks.
- Check and ensure the loading material matches, bill of ladings or with the invoice material in quantity, type of products, etc.
- Keep updated records of activity logs.
- Perform quality checks and quality assurance including reporting product or merchadise damage and shortages or overages.
- Ensure compliance in the service offer by the warehouse to internal and external customers.
- Participate in annual inventory and cycle-counting of materials and products.
- Participate in daily operations meetings and in safety meetings.
- Shrink wraps products and merchandise, securing thema nd preparing them for transport.
- Weighs and records weights of products and merchandise.
- Promote and maintain the 5S program.
- Identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
- Report any damage to faulty equipment or any safety hazards immediately to Supervisor.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities.
- Inspecting for damages to forklift or lifting equipment.
- Identify workplace safety or potential hazards.
- Adhere to OSHA and safety standards.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Education and/or Experience
- High School Disploma or GED equivalent highly preferred.
- Knowledge in logistics, warehouse or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Prior experience as Forklift Operator and in handling various lifting equipment.
- Skilled in operating various types of forklifts.
- Valid forklift certification to operate forklifts.
- Valid Driver's License.
- At least 2 years of progressive and hands-on experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in a fast-paced manufacturing, distribution center, logistics, or warehouse environment.
- Experience in performing Post & Pre-Inspections to ensure suitable working conditions of forklift equipment.
- OSHA training and hazardous materials training is a plus.
- Familiarity with all types of industrial lifting equipment.
- Basic Mathematical aptitude is required.
- Execllent team-work skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish language is required to handle loading/unloading documentation. Must speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish is required.
- Comprehensice knowledge of safety guidelines.
- Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documentation, and safety guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal/relationship building, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high- customer service and professionalism.

- Ability to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, creativity to fast-paced, changing needs and situations.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined above. Examples include: operating various types of lifting equiment and forklifts. Thinking and concentrating effectively, frequently communicating with people, frequently moving around the facility/warehouse and yard areas. Requires frequent physical effort of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 55-60 pds., ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, ability to have regular, reliable attendance on-site.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and ability with spatial areas.

- Work environment in the distribution center/logistics areas, and warehouse may involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions, safety training, and required PPE.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises in or around the facility’s premises.
