Warehouse Dock Worker/Forklift Operator(Pm Shift) $21 An Hour!

Javelin Logistics Company, Inc is an industry leader in material management, logistics, and comprehensive transportation services with proven accuracy, flexibility, and on-time delivery is seeking to immediately hire a full time Dock Worker for their Newark Facility.

Dock Worker $21-$22/hr. Full Time.

Days, Hours: Sunday(9am to 5pm), Monday through Thursday( 2pm to 10pm)

Responsibilities include:
Receiving, loading, and unloading, inventory, computer literate, organizing and maintaining the department at a high level of efficiency.

Must have minimum two years sit down forklift experience and ability to deck a trailer.

Essential Duties

· Verifies and keeps record of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading and manifests.

· Verify accuracy of freight location on the floor.

· Affixes shipping labels or bills of lading on cartons and crates.

· Breakdown PMC’s

· Verify shipments against receiving records

· Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

· Uses forklift, walkie rider, or pallet jack to load and offload trucks.

· Note and photograph exceptions when freight shows signs of damage

· Promptly report all problems to Supervision

· Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

· Anticipate potential safety issues and initiate action to solve or prevent problems.

· Send all email communications regarding shipments.

· Makes essential decisions on loading of freight to provide on time deliveries.

· Pick up cargo and stage at local dock while driving a company van.

Skills and Competencies

· Minimum two years of experience on a sit down Forklift

· Ability to deck a Trailer

· Able to process trucks in a timely and accurate manner.

· Maintain and keep an organized environment.

· Lifting and unloading shipments up to 50 lbs.

· Able to follow direction without detailed explanations

· Basic Math and computer skills.

· Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.

· A driven person with a positive attitude. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Must be able to work as a team member and independently.

· Able to stand on feet all day and perform repetitive motions (reaching, grasping, carrying, climbing, etc.).

· Manage time and resources to accomplish tasks.

· Proactive with a good attendance record and punctuality.

· Forklift certified

· Ability to work with minimum supervision

Qualifications:

· 21 years of age required per regulations (2 years driving experience)

· Class C Driver's License

· Ability to pass TSA mandated Security Threat Analysis (STA) and Drug test

· Stable employment history

· Ability to operate a forklift (3,000 lb. vehicle) or previous forklift certification preferable

· Ability to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck

· Physical activities include standing, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder, sitting etc.

· Ability to meet the FMCSA's requirements to speak and read English

· Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

· Must be able to interact well with others

· No more than two moving violations and no more than one accident in past 36 months

· No DUIs in last 5 years

· 12 months verifiable experience operating comparable truck preferred

· Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting

· Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities

· Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 75lbs

· Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

· Must be authorized to work in the United States

· Work environment is not temperature controlled and can be loud as well as dusty at times.
