Warehouse Dock Porter

This will be a split shift position - Monday – Friday – 10:00am start

The Dock Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment in our distribution center. The porter will also assist in cleaning delivery vehicles upon their return to the center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Remove carts and pallets from delivery vehicles

· Separate cardboard and other dunnage from carts and sort into baler/compactor.

· Ensure loading dock is kept in neat and orderly fashion

· Return product to specified areas in the warehouse.

· Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

· Relevant warehouse and receiving experience a plus.

· Experience operating pallet jacks, hand-trucks a plus

· Experience operating balers and compactors a plus

Skills/Qualifications

· Be able to speak and understand English

· Must be organized and accurate.

· Must have strong multi-tasking and follow-through skills. Must be able to follow multiple directions.

· Must be a team player.

· Must work well unsupervised and be self-motivated.

Physical Demands

· Ability to constantly lift up to 10 pounds.

· Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

· Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

· Work near moving mechanical parts in a warehouse environment.

· Exposure to extreme cold (negative 20°) in a freezer environment.

· Exposure to icy floor conditions.

· Exposure to loud noises.
