As an Automation Technician II, you will maintain the facilities Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems station during checkout, testing, troubleshooting and repairs of the automated equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying system components, troubleshoot all non-functioning electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems and components, ensuring they return to full serviceability.
You will contribute by:
- Maintain all systems and subsystems of the Automated Storage & Retrieval System. Ensure rapid equipment return to serviceability by performing thorough in-depth troubleshooting on any non-functioning or faulted system, subsystem or component. Must be proficient in the removal/replacement, reloading of software parameters, calibration and/or circuit tuning of the GE RS300 Line Regenerative Converter or AV 300 Motor Controller. Troubleshoot and replace DeviceNet components of the SRM control system to include setting node numbers and running diagnostics. Be able to remove/replace all mechanical parts of SRM including the drive/idler wheels and their correct alignment. Will diagnose and replace as required Electronic Distance Measuring (EDM) devices including reprogramming and alignment. Skilled in inspection and replacement of wire ropes. Be able to replace all carriage mechanical/electrical parts and perform a full carriage alignment
- Keep supervisors informed of specific problems and suggested actions, including approximate time required for repairs
- Perform all Preventive Maintenance Inspection functions including: shuttle inspection, lubrication and plate/chain alignment. Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) actions on automated conveyor equipment as directed
- Be proficient in all conveyor maintenance including: repairing broken chain, replacing roller, realigning or replacing control system sensor (photo-eye), replacing drive motor, etc. on conveyors; resetting controller system, cleaning, adjusting or replacing sensors, troubleshooting, and/or replacing fuses or damaged components on SRMs
- Document repairs, PMs, parts usage, and time by completing work orders in a computerized maintenance data collection system (MicroMain)
- Responsible for clean up of equipment and removal of replaced parts from work areas after repairs are completed.
- Assist and train other automation team technicians in troubleshooting and repairs of any equipment as required, consistent with level of experience and training.

Skills
- Strong knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics, mechanical diagrams and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns for troubleshooting and repairs, while understanding
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Windows based computer operation for HMI control of automated equipment.
- Working understanding of PLC controlled machinery.
- Working understanding of VFD controlled machinery
- Physical abilities: Must be able to work at heights up to 110 ft.
- Computer proficient--Microsoft Windows based computer operation.
- Ability to utilize shop equipment for fabrication.
- Proficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment
Years Of Experience
- 1-2: equivalent experience in electronics/mechatronics or equivalent field
