Warehouse Associate – Receiving and Sorting Donations
Reports to: General Manager and/or Warehouse Lead
Employment Status: Non-Exempt - 30-40 hours/week

POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Associate is a hard-working, team-player with excellent people skills, a self- motivated attitude, and is flexible. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving donations from the general public and then sorting the donations in accordance with Junk-
Atique policies and procedures. They must have good communication skills, be able to learn quickly and to work independently. The Warehouse Associate must have the ability to lift and carry merchandise up to 50 pounds or more frequently throughout a shift, and be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach and climb during the course of the shift.

The Warehouse Associate strives to display love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, works well with a team, and is humble and eager to learn.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
• Assist customers who are donating items and provide a written donation receipt when requested
• Work safely, quickly and efficiently to handle donations and sort merchandise into appropriate gaylord, bin, and/or totes
• Ensure donations are packed appropriately so as to ensure merchandise is protected from breakage and other damage
• May participate in the remote pickup and delivery of merchandise
• Will assist in the loading of sold merchandise
• Will inspect the grounds outside the store at least one time in the morning and two times in the afternoon in order to keep the area clean and free of weeds and debris
• Maintain a neat, clean and organized work area
• Report to work on time and complete job tasks as assigned accurately and on time
• Engage in problem solving to support continuous improvement
• Maintain positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment
• Provide backup coverage for any other JATO staff position as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
● Must agree to the mission statement, values, and Statement of Faith of Junk-Atique

● Must agree to uphold and support the missions, vision, and strategy of JATO
● Ability to understand and follow JATO policies and procedures
● Skilled and efficient multi-tasker
● Excellent problem-solving, organization, and verbal communication skills
● Good analytical/critical thinking, maturity, and leadership capability
● A self-starter with a willingness to continue to learn and develop additional skills to grow personally and serve the role and Junk-Atique more effectively
● Must lead by example
● Will possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain a driving record consistent with JATO insurance requirements
● Will possess a valid forklift certification or operator’s license when operating a JATO forklift

ABOUT THE MINISTRY
JATO’s roots began as a large “yard sale” held one time a year at the Calvary Bible Church campus with the proceeds supporting the missions department of the church. On March 1,
2018 the JATO store was opened with the mission to raise funds for the missions, projects, and programs of Resurrection Church.* Since its opening – JATO has raised over $670,000** for local and global missions/missionaries.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
