SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Warehouse Clerk under the direction of the Director of Operations is responsible for handling, storing, processing, and distribution of donated food products at the Food Bank facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Stage product orders for loading for following day in designated staging areas.
• Unload product/materials from day shift and place in inbound staging area.
• Follow and operate within the standard operating procedures (SOPs) as established by Placer Food Bank.
• Operate forklift and/or trucks while following proper safety protocols as outlined in company policy.
• Handle truck and forklift inspections and maintenances as follows:
o Inspect forklifts and electric jacks as required, check fluids, and add water as needed.
o Report any repairs needed to supervisor.
o Clean interior and exterior of trucks as needed.
• Clean and maintain respective work area as assigned.
• Perform general cleaning duties in accordance with the Placer Food Bank's cleaning program; to include sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping of floors, dusting, and wiping down equipment, interior window cleaning.
• Clean facility in accordance with Feeding America and Health regulations, assist with the maintaining of the Food Bank's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program
• Occasional light maintenance duties such as painting and changing of light bulbs in fixtures
• Perform equipment checks and turn off and lock out equipment that is not in use.
• Assist with the operations of the repack/sorting area as follows:
o Help organize and set-up workstations for afternoon volunteer groups.
o Set up repacking/sorting area for following day volunteer activities as listed on activities calendar
• Communicate regularly with coworkers.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Able and willing to accept supervision and direction
• Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to be self-directed when necessary
• Flexible, motivated, and resourceful
• Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds

• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate effectively with staff, public, and agencies
• Time management and task completion skills

• Basic computer skills

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist and turn body. This position is often performed in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment and requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. This position does require the ability to perform under stressful conditions and high-volume demands.
