Position Summary
Responsible for accurately pulling components and Work orders to support the Production Schedule. Kitting and identifying the work orders as they are completed so Production Material handler can identify and locate the appropriate production line.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Complete a hand written Daily Forklift Checklist before the start of each shift.
- Required to operate forklift trucks and/or pallet jacks in a safe, efficient manner.
- Will be required to pass company certification training for company equipment within 90 days.
- Must be able to maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times by following the GMP and SOP guidelines.
- Follow and abide by the Company Employee Manual at all times.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance daily.
- Must pull Finished Goods work orders in an accurate and timely manner from locations using scanner equipment.
- Ensures Finished Goods work orders are palletized and placed together, ensuring each pallet is identified with WO #, and total pallet quantity.
- Will be required to move newly received items from floor to rack locations using the scanner equipment.
- Will be required to process production work order returns to rack locations using scanner equipment.
- May be asked to serve on various committees for Safety, Health, and Environmental areas and possibly lead said committees or meetings.
- Will be asked to perform accurate and timely cycle counts on component inventory when required.
- Ability and desire to take charge in situations where Supervisory aid is not available, to make good operational decisions to handle the situation.
- Ability and desire to guide departmental peers in decisions regarding the Supply Chain department using past experience.
- Act as a second set of eyes for department supervisor with regards to inventory, safety items, handling equipment and notify appropriate departments when necessary.
- Assist other warehouse personnel in daily cleaning operations.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the warehouse Supervisor or Manager.
- Will be able to move from Warehouse, Receiving, Central Weighing, cycle counting, and Shipping with little reduction in efficiency due to having been extensively trained, and having some operational experience in these areas.
Technical Skills Required
- Ability to read and understand formulas, procedures, and SOPs.
- Able to understand and operate Scan equipment and train others if needed.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Accurate and legible record keeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with different types of scales for weighing.
- Ability to convert from pounds to kilograms and vice versa accurately.
- Able to manage multiple tasks on a daily basis.
- Ability, and desire, to cross train in other similar functions in the Supply Chain Department.
- Ability and desire to take leadership role temporarily in absence of supervisor/manager to keep the department running smoothly.
- Ability and desire to learn more than just the basics of responsibilities and duties, and able to guide others in the department on SOPs and Work Instructions.
- Ability to be trained in writing and implementing SOPs and Work Instructions in their section of specialization.
- Ability to work with virtually no direct supervision to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Able to handle stressful situations with coolness and calmness to resolution using experience.
- Ability to work in ANY Supply Chain section (Warehouse, Receiving, Shipping, Central Weighing, Cycle Counting).
Experience Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified to operate material handling equipment, and the ability to be recertified at requested OSHA intervals.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds and manipulate up to 600-pound drums on a regular basis.
- Stand/remain upright for long periods of time.
- Bend, squat, kneel, turn, and stoop.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to work and function safely in a semi temperature-controlled area (85 to 90F).
