Job Description
SUMMARY: The Warehouse Associate is responsible for shipping, receiving, staging, inventory control and overall facility/warehouse organization.
SHIFT DETAILS: Monday-Thursday: 6am-2:30pm, Friday: 7:30am-3:30pm for first 6 months. Then: Monday-Thursday: 8am-4:30pm and Friday: 7am-3:30pm. Pay: $18-$20/hr.
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all warehouse activities in support of manufacturing operations including but not limited to receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials
- Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to hand dolly, forklift, electric dolly, pallet jack, and/or elevator.
- Responsible for all shipping and receiving, completing the proper paperwork, palletizing product and breaking down pallets for storage.
- Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials and products.
- Performs incoming inspections for all received raw material which includes documentation and labeling requirements
- Ensures accurate and timely shipments and receipts.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures.
- Processes all packages for shipping; processes returned merchandise.
- Maintains strict inventory control; Utilizes inventory control software
- Conducts physical inventory counts; provides inventory reports
- Maintains a safe, clean working environment
- Responsible for keeping aisle ways clean and clear of obstruction. Daily sweeping and trash removal to trash receptacles. Ensure all safety procedures are being followed at all times.
- Adheres to OSHA and company programs and standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One to four years related experience or equivalent.
- Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
- Forklift certified.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Responsible and reliable individual with excellent work ethic, who can multitask and prioritize
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Bilingual skills a plus.
- Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions
- Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Must be able to interact with all levels of personnel in a professional and positive manner
- Familiarity with WMS and ERP systems preferred, but not required
- Basic English reading and writing skills.
- Basic Math skills, including: Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication and ability to use a ruler for measuring.
