Job Description
STATEMENT OF JOB:
The Universal worker can provide services in the following care service job descriptions:
PCA Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues, to appropriate individuals (ex: HCD, RN/LPN, or ED)
- Must maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position
- Assists residents with activities of daily living
- Perform housekeeping duties, such as making resident beds, cleaning resident apartments, common areas, dining room, etc. as directed by supervisor
- Respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts
- Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies
- Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents
- Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
- Assists residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities
- Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities
- Checks on residents who are ill and reports status or concerns to appropriate individuals
- Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers
- Assists new residents with move-in transition: provide emotional support
- Other duties as assigned
.Server Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Residents:
- Assists residents when placing orders from the menu
- Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea)
- Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal
- Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
- Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques
- Has a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.)
- Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room
- Attends required in-services and staff meetings
- Must be attentive to special needs of residents including: mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc.)
- Assists with tray service
- Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
- Interacts in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors
- Completes all other duties as assigned
Housekeeper Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee cleaning of the entire facility, with particular emphasis on the common areas and the apartment bathrooms
- Complete maintenance request reports when needed
- Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor
- Operate the laundry equipment when needed
- Report inadequate quantities of all supplies needed to perform duties to housekeeping supervisor
- Use only approved cleaning products and ensure that all cleaning supplies are properly stored at all times
- Clean office areas when assigned
- Dust and clean all window blinds in the community
- Dust all furniture, book shelves, etc. in resident apartments and common areas
- Vacuum common areas and resident apartments
- Keep common area and resident bathrooms clean
- Clean apartments at resident move-out
- Attend required in-services and staff meetings
- Maintain resident privacy/confidentiality at all times. Follow all policies regarding release of resident information
- Completes all other duties as assigned
Requirement
Universal Worker Requirements:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
- Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
- Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
- Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
- Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
- Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
PCA Requirements:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have successfully completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations as applicable
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
- Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
- Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
- Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
