Form of workThis position is located within Commander Navy Region Hawaii, Fleet and Family Readiness Programs, Tradewinds Club. The purpose of this position is to perform "behind-the-scene" food and beverage service functions, together with related housekeeping activities such as the following: secures clean linen and appropriate glassware and silverware, depending on the particular menu, food, and beverages to be served or on direction of supervisor.Qualifications:Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Skill to serve beverages and meals in the proper manner and sequence.
- Knowledge of proper food handling techniques such as the correct side to serve from and the correct side to remove from.
- Knowledge of the composition of all food items on the menu, whether American or Foreign; the available beverages and wines and which wines complement specific meals and their proper serving temperatures.
- Skill in proper table setting techniques. Knowledge of simple math calculations in order to tabulate checks.
- Ability to recognize intoxicated patrons when serving alcohol.
