Summary of Position:
The VRU Technician II is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs) in the oil and gas industry. This position involves working on various VRU systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize emissions.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor Vapor Recovery Units to ensure optimal performance.
- Adjust equipment settings as needed to maximize vapor recovery efficiency.
- Monitor system alarms and respond promptly to any issues or malfunctions.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of VRU systems to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Ensure that VRU systems are operating in compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
- Assist in conducting emissions testing and reporting as required by regulatory agencies.
- Implement and maintain safety procedures to protect personnel and the environment.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare reports on system performance and compliance for management and regulatory purposes.
- Train and mentor junior VRU technicians as needed.
- Collaborate with other personnel, including operators and engineers, to optimize VRU performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a VRU Technician or in a similar role in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of Vapor Recovery Unit systems and equipment.
- Able to navigate and utilize common computer systems and applications effectively.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and emissions monitoring.
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals and schematics.
