As part of our expansion, we are seeking a Vice President /Director of Sales with a proven track record in data sales to lead our efforts in capturing new business opportunities and fostering lasting client relationships.

Job Summary:

The VP / Director of Sales will spearhead our sales initiatives, focusing on promoting our suite of data services. This role demands a strategic thinker with an in-depth understanding of how Data Solutions can address specific business challenges. The successful candidate will be adept at identifying potential clients, understanding their unique needs, and crafting tailored proposals that demonstrate the value and ROI of our data and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Planning for Key Industries: Develop comprehensive sales plans that target critical sectors like mortgage, automotive, banking, finance, insurance, healthcare, and retail, leveraging our Data Solutions to meet the diverse needs of these industries.
  • Engagement through Data Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge of data services to initiate meaningful conversations with potential clients, demonstrating how our solutions can address their specific data challenges.
  • Relationship Building with Decision-Makers: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across industries, adopting a consultative sales approach that positions you as a trusted advisor and partner in their success.
  • Market Insight and Regulatory Awareness: Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, regulatory changes (FCRA, TCPA, GLB, GDPR/CCPA), and technological advancements, using this information to inform and refine sales strategies and discussions with clients.
  • Collaboration for Impactful Sales Materials: Work closely with product and marketing teams to create compelling sales materials and case studies, showcasing the tangible benefits and impact of our Data Solutions on businesses.
  • Sales Performance Analysis and Optimization: Set, monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, making strategic adjustments as necessary to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded, driving continuous growth.
  • RFP Expertise and Solution Proposal: Provide detailed and expert responses to RFPs, offering comprehensive explanations of our Data Solutions, their implementation strategies, and their unique value propositions to potential clients.
  • Sales Team Development and Training: Conduct frequent training sessions for the sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge, techniques, and tools for effectively selling Data Solutions and staying competitive in the market.
  • Strategic Account Management: Manage and expand client accounts through effective upselling and cross-selling strategies, ensuring long-term client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead the sales team by hiring, training, and mentoring sales professionals to foster a high-performance sales culture.
  • Innovative Thinking: Propose innovative solutions to clients, staying ahead of market trends and identifying new opportunities for growth.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize sales metrics and analytics to inform strategies, forecast sales trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Networking and Relationship Building: Leverage connections within key industries and participate in industry forums, conferences, and professional groups for business development.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing sales teams, with at least 3 years focused on selling Data Solutions or related technology services.
  • Industry-specific Experience: Direct experience with the credit data industry (preferred) or a background in data and analytics sales.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong understanding of data analytics, big data, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and how these factors influence business decisions.
  • Negotiation Skills: Advanced skills in negotiation, with a track record of closing large-scale deals and managing contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with CRM software, data analysis tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in analyzing sales metrics and using analytics to inform business strategies.
  • Startup/Early-Stage Company Experience: Demonstrated experience working in a startup or early-stage company environment, showcasing adaptability, initiative, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
