Job description

Job Description:
The BofA Equity Derivatives Sales team in San Francisco covers mainly Western Region clients for both Equity Derivatives and equity swaps. Client types are mostly managers of capital, although the team also covers some owners of capital. Coverage includes idea generation, trade construction, and structuring, as well as trade implementation and execution. The team works with all levels of BofA's institutional clients, from CIOs and portfolio managers to traders and trade support personnel. The product set spans a wide range: listed and OTC equity options, other more complex OTC equity derivative structures, equity swaps on single stocks, ETFs, and indices, cash ETFs, futures, and more. We work closely with coverage and other business partners to best serve our clients and to put BofA in the best position to succeed and to earn our clients' business.
Our core capabilities include:
  • Full client interaction, from working to onboard clients, to advising on and structuring trades, to implementing and executing trades, to working on post-trade processes (full trade life-cycle).
  • As a senior member on the team, the role will principally encompass client coverage, ranging from origination (new clients and new business with existing clients), driving client relationships, advising on and structuring client transactions, and on trade implementation.
  • That said, there will be components of the role that relate to simply keeping the business running. These may include pre and post trade elements necessary to the smooth onboarding of clients and to ensuring that the logistical elements of client relationships demonstrate a high level of service.
  • With time, it is expected that the role will expand to include ownership of more client relationships and to having a greater stake in running the business.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ideal candidate must have working knowledge of financial markets, notably equities, and within equities, both derivatives and swaps.
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 7 & 63 exams to qualify for immediate registration; the Series 3 is a requirement, but not for day one.
  • The candidate is expected to have "owned" client relationships previously, but it is not a requirement that they were relationships with clients within the scope of our Western Region business.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
  • Must be highly organized, diligent, meticulous, and team-oriented.
  • Motivated self-starter who has the ability to creatively solve problems.
