This position will be based in the US (W. Chester, PA or Parsippany, NJ) or Tel-Aviv, Israel.
The opportunity
The Strategic Pipeline Leader (SPL) has overall responsibility for leading the cross-functional Neuroscience therapeutic area (TA) strategy team to set the overall long-term pipeline strategy for the organization within their therapeutic area and to optimize a portfolio of products from early to late stage development, aligning with Teva strategy and priorities.
Specifically, the SPL has accountability for delivering:
  • Cross-functional strategic vision within Neuroscience - where to play and with which assets and technologies - aligned with global R&D functions, BD and Commercial.
  • Robust and consistent development plans for assets within the TA through partnership with the Global Program Leadership (GPL) team to ensure asset potential is maximized through:
    • Global scope
    • Indication strategy
    • Asset enhancement
  • Pro-active pipeline management including:
    • Portfolio scenario planning and decision making based on internal data, shifts in market. dynamics and newly emerging risks, e.g. overlapping indications across products.
    • Proactive engagement with BD on TA needs for in-licensing & out-licensing.
    • Identifies new opportunities to build pipeline, leveraging existing technologies.

The SPL will work in collaboration with the Innovative Medicines Strategic Business Operations lead on TA strategic initiatives and special projects as needed.
The SPL will operate in a balanced matrix environment and will be required to adopt an enterprise mindset in leading their TA.
Key Responsibilities
Works with cross-functional team in R&D, Commercial & BD to develop the TA strategy identifying opportunities for development that address unmet needs in the selected focus areas.
Partners with GPLs to ensure consistent and robust development of portfolio and assets within it to drive differentiation.
Makes recommendations as to potential in/out-licensing opportunities and other R&D collaborations.
Identifies opportunities to expand portfolio based on Teva existing technology and portfolio.
Supports Go/No Go decisions for portfolio within TA.
Portfolio prioritization and scenario planning within TA.
When needed, engages with relevant external stakeholders at the TA level.
Executive level presentation of relevant TA issues at the various governance bodies.
Stays abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes and scientific developments within relevant TA. Routinely applies insights to active Programs and overall TA strategy.
Provides mentoring and guidance to the project team members.
Follows all Teva policies and procedures.
Your experience and qualifications
Bachelor's level degree in scientific field with required professional experience required. Advanced degree preferred (i.e. MD, MBA, Pharm D, PhD).
Minimum of 15 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry in early and late-stage development.
Experience in program lifecycle management.
Excellent strategic thinker with ability to both set and execute strategy.
Established cross-functional matrix leadership without direct reports.
Established track record of effective and influential oral presentations - including presenting investment opportunities to senior executive teams.
Experience delivering MAA/NDA/BLA/JNDAs as well as sNDAs is preferred, as is a deep Neuroscience therapeutic area experience.
Additional functional knowledge should include an in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical development (i.e. experience in Phase I - III development programs and submissions), an awareness of commercial, market access and medical affairs considerations through development and launch as well as experience of BD due diligence processes.
Travel Requirements
Willingness and ability to routinely travel domestically and abroad.
