We are currently seeking a VP, People and Organizations to join our People & Culture team. This role will be reporting to the SVP, People & Culture and Total Rewards and is based in our New York City headquarters.
JOB SUMMARY
The VP, People and Organizations is responsible for providing leadership and oversight with respect to policies, employee relations, and organizational design. The ideal candidate will have a broad and deep knowledge of the Human Resources function.
This position will work closely with the SVP, People & Culture and Total Rewards, to provide results-oriented direction, strategic counsel and best practices around leading cohesive, engaged and efficient teams and providing strong people management to our US-based senior leadership and employees. They will also provide guidance to the business and employees on company policy, practices, and compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
This position requires both a player and coach mentality, acting as a business partner as well as managing a team of two senior business partners and a junior HR generalist, responsible for providing day-to-day support with employee matters, HR transactions and business processes, internal investigations. The candidate will work with their peers across the HR function (Talent Acquisition & People Operations, Talent Development & Management, Compensation and Benefits) to develop and execute Human Resources strategies and goals that align with the needs of the business. Collaboration is key to success.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver results-oriented advice and counsel to our internal clients through an understanding of best practices and processes to build and maintain effective teams and organizations.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand key business initiatives, effectively support and execute on our practices and processes to deliver a quality employee experience.
  • Partner with legal to review and implement strategies, policies, procedures and practices that ensure compliance with applicable legislative/regulatory requirements across our population.
  • Support functional leaders in reviewing their organizational structure and, together with our Talent Acquisition team, planning for their talent requirements in line with business strategy and budget.
  • Encourage a strong leadership and feedback culture to support our career development practices.
  • Provide effective management and oversight of the People and Organizations team resulting in timely and thoughtful support of our internal clients’ short and long-term needs.
  • Conduct investigations and take appropriate actions supported by documentation with respect to employee relations matters, including issues that may arise on our first-party productions.
  • Partner with our People Systems group to help shape the delivery of our HRMS processes that focuses on the employee’s experience.
  • Partner with Talent Development and Management to implement training programs that promote employee growth and development, encourage active participation and completion of our performance management processes, help our leaders with a long-range view of their organizations to identify promotion and succession planning opportunities.
  • Provide oversight and management of employee lifecycle events, including onboarding, orientation, promotion, discipline and termination.
  • Support talent needs by leading immigration case management in partnership with external counsel.
  • Advance organizational design that supports effective communication, productivity, and innovation.
  • Manage employee engagement survey, recognition programs and emergency notification systems.
  • Connect senior leadership to ensure there is alignment in the delivery of quality services.
  • Together with the People Operations team, measure and evaluate the impact of programs and initiatives through data analytics to promote fact-based decision making.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 15+ years relevant hands-on progressive management experience in Human Resources; prior experience in the media or entertainment industry preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing programs and policies that support performance management, transformational change, change management, organizational growth and employee development.
  • Must be analytical, have excellent interpersonal/persuasion skills, verbal & written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of employment and human resources related federal, state and local laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking, deadline driven environment that advocates and supports a change management philosophy.
  • Exposure/experience working alongside C-Suite executives and comfortable managing in a matrixed organization.
  • Customer experience focus and mindset; ability to understand business challenges and to create solutions that positively impact the way people perform.
  • Knowledge of Workday strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with unionized labor populations a plus.
The base compensation range for this position is $200,000.00 to $230,000.00 commensurate with experience.
