Job Description Summary
This role is pivotal in executing Imaging's digital strategy across SBUs, Digital, Service, and Software teams. The VP of Software, Digital, is responsible for defining and implementing a global software strategy within Imaging Digital that delivers Imaging's Digital solution. Imaging Digital's solution is deployed via Imaging's edge appliance and has the goal of scaling and integrating Imaging clinical applications providing seamless clinical decisions support leveraging the latest AI and supporting a unified experience across customer's fleet. This role will lead the transition of Imaging digital solutions over to Cloud. This role will also establish and execute digital service strategy for Imaging.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
  • Define and Execute global SW strategy for Imaging Digital, driving commonalities and continual improvement in technology, software development processes and tools.
  • Establish the software architecture vision and execute the delivery of Imaging Appliance for application growth.
  • Influence GEHC SW platform & technology directions, work with business leadership to define & execute programs to deliver world-class digital solutions.
  • Drive innovation and growth by driving a culture of external focus, innovation and championing translation of new technologies/ideas into competitive differentiators.
  • Lead the long-term strategy (LTS), World Wide Technology Planning (WWTP), World Wide Product Planning (WWPP) and Annual Budgeting for Imaging Digital.
  • Integrate Quality Management System Processes with effective functional engineering practices (eg : Six Sigma, Lean, Technical Design Review Rigor, Advanced SW Engineering Standards & Tools) for improved product quality and reliability.
  • Instill a rigorous approach to SW design reliability, support target costing for new products & cost out of existing products.
  • Drive a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality in all areas for the Quality Management System in GEHC.
  • Support Adoption of SaaS: Champion the adoption of Software as a Service (SaaS) within Imaging, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of SaaS solutions across various business units.
  • People Leadership Skills: Exhibit strong leadership skills with responsibility for direct reports; focus on developing and nurturing talent, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving team success.
  • Partnership with Product Managers: Collaborate closely with product managers to align software development efforts with product roadmaps, ensuring that software solutions meet evolving market needs and business goals.
  • Experience Managing a Budget: Oversee and manage the annual budget for Imaging's Digital software, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and financial efficiency in line with strategic goals.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering/Science within an appropriate discipline
  • 10 years of experience in the software engineering domain
  • 7 years of experience in a global leadership role for Software Engineering
  • 5 years of demonstrated success and experience in applying business management principles and actions to the software engineering function
  • Experience developing software in an agile environment
  • Proven experience in regulated medical device company
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.... must be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions
  • Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, at all levels of the organization.... able to energize and inspire
  • Team player able to work closely with a global team and open to sharing information and best practices with the team

Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Science
  • Strong understanding of, and experience in developing, micro-services / API-based software architectures
  • Experience with Application deployment on EDGE and on cloud
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework and LEAN
  • Business Planning: Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change across the site
  • Strong multi-generation technology planning experience with an excellent understanding of product system architecture(s), platforms and core functional technologies
  • Functional Experience: Excellent program management, organizational design, execution planning and control competency
  • Product, Clinical, Technology & Scientific Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of patient/customer and segment related clinical applications and workflow as well as scientific/engineering methods/theory with an affinity for technology and clinical solutions within a functional domain
  • Product Life Cycle: Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire new product development cycle, managing Field Maintenance Instructions (FMIs) and Installed Base releases
  • Strong business acumen as well as customer focused influencing skills
  • Experience in SaaS Environments: Strong background in working with Software as a Service platforms
  • Strategic Collaboration with Product Management: History of strategic partnership with product management teams, contributing to product vision and influencing decision-making processes
  • Budget Management Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in managing budgets within a software engineering context, with a focus on maximizing return on investment and fiscal responsibility
