Job description

Position Summary

The VP of Sales, Walmart will work in concert with the Walmart team, Management, and Walmart counterparts to develop and deliver business plans and long-term strategic initiatives with a key focus on driving growth and expansion for Markwins’ family of brands. This role is responsible for all aspects of the Walmart business including strategic account development, budgeting, spend management, ad planning, display development, business analytics/recaps, projections/ forecasts, and program development. This person will be responsible for team development including 5 direct reports, forward looking team needs, and managing the Walmart team to deliver on stated goals. The VP of Sales, Walmart acts as the liaison between Walmart and cross-functional internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects and programs to the account. This leader is an integral part of a dedicated Walmart Team to ensure category exceeding growth and profitability.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the team for accelerated Walmart gross and net sales across all brands leveraging best in class personnel and well-developed relationship with Walmart counterparts
  • Develop and track budgets including shipments, ad spend, markdowns, returns, and misc. spending to manage P&L and deliver profitable results
  • Maintain and develop best-in-class internal communication and documentation including display trackers, project updates, ad calendars, and communication of Walmart timelines for all stakeholders
  • Manage and execute end-to-end process of annual planogram conversion execution
  • Analyze, develop, and deliver reports on a weekly, periodic, and ad-hoc basis. These reports should include program to GOAL tracking, business planning documents, shipping, and retail sales tracking
  • Manage and oversee monthly forecasting (CPFR) on entire catalog of Markwins items
  • Will work with all levels of Walmart counterparts including DPs through GMM level
  • Assist with item setups and item maintenance
  • Prepare for and participate in status and business planning meetings both with the account and internal teams at headquarters (top to top, line reviews, quarterly business review)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Walmart counterparts and develop into a “trusted advisor” role
  • Be part of a dynamic team managing one of Markwins’ most important customers
  • Responsible for leading a team that achieves (and exceeds!) sales quotas, profit expectations, and customer objectives
  • Perform other duties as needed and directed by management

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Graduate degree in a business-related field; management, marketing, sales or administration preferred
  • 10+ years of CPG experience in sales, merchandising, or business analytics and with managing direct reports

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Must have proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Must have strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • 30-40% Travel required
    • Biweekly + Ad Hoc travel to Walmart HQ
    • 8-12x per year to Markwins HQ + additional travel
  • Work from Markwins Arkansas office
