*This position is remote but will require 40%-50% travel to Lab territories in the following states: New York, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida.
$175,000-$225,000 base plus commissions and bonus potential
Job Summary:
The Vice President of Sales provides leadership to the sales team and develops the overall business plans and processes that will drive revenue growth and achieve organizational financial objectives. This position will design effective sales strategies, develop goals, and oversee daily sales activities while measuring and monitoring sales performance. The VP of Sales also meets with and promotes the company’s products and services to both current and prospective clients. This individual will promote collaboration between the sales and internal technical teams to upsell and cross-sell existing customers with the goal of building customer relationships and maximizing sales growth and profitability.
Essential Job Functions:
Sales Strategy:
· Meets or exceeds annual sales and revenue budget.
· Designs a strategic sales plan that grows existing business as well as new business.
· Sets sales targets and forecast sales volumes in coordination with Regional Sales Representatives and holds team accountable for achieving those objectives
· Accountable for sales organization’s budget and proactively monitors and approves expenses.
· Coordinates sales training that enable the team to achieve their potential and grow within the organization.
· Monitors market trends and provide regular competitor analysis.
· Establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales operations.
· Builds strong and collaborative relationships with other internal stakeholders (General Managers, Department Heads and Lead Technical Contacts) and align sales strategies with product offerings and customer needs.
· Reviews and reacts urgently to significant customer trends, competitor information and industry products and innovations.
· Fosters and maintains strategic vendor relationships to build business.
Sales Leadership:
· Hires, trains, and develops Regional Sales Representatives.
· Leads a sales team that executes prospecting, cold calling, on-site sales presentations and closing, ensuring timely follow through on sales leads.
· Provides daily oversight and management of the sales team’s performance, attendance, and behavior. And provides course correction to address short falls in performance in a timely manner.
· Ensures the proper use of CRM databases and tools to track performance. Implements strategies for improvement as needed.
· Quarterly travel with Field Technical Advisors to provide training and coaching for improved outcomes.
· Develops territory plans with all Field Technical Advisors and complete a Quarterly Business Review with those individuals on the team.
· Performs weekly and monthly team review of KPI’s and achievement of revenue targets and updates the leadership team on a monthly basis.
· Drives accountability and continuous improvement in sales effectiveness.
· Mentors and provides training and to improve team productivity and effectiveness.
· Ensures all reps maintain and submit sales activity reports and other reports, as necessary.
Individual Contribution to Sales:
· Develops and maintains key customer relationships.
· Identifies, develops, and maintains strong, results-oriented relationships with prospective and existing customers that will result in new and increased sales revenues.
· Responsible for identifying new sales opportunities and acquiring new business within the DSO (Dental Service Organization) market.
· Attends local, regional, and national tradeshows as a method of both building sales and fostering strategic relationships.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree in business management, finance, marketing or a closely related field or equivalent experience.
· 10 years progressive sales and sales leadership experience. (Experience communicating with dental or medical professionals a plus).
· Proven record of exceeding annual sales and revenue objectives.
· Demonstrates the ability to absorb and utilize detailed knowledge of the company’s products and services as well as competitive products and markets.
· Demonstrates solid motivational and leadership skills to drive results amongst the sales team.
· Exhibits awareness of best sales practices and methods with a hunter mentality and strong sales closing skills.
· Ability to engage with executives and create and make presentations suitable for board level interactions.
· Strong, decisive, customer-focused leader who consistently demonstrates a sense of urgency.
· Results driven with a commitment to high quality, consistent outcomes.

· Proficiency using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
· Must have the ability to travel as required, approximately 40-50% of the time to satellite locations and relevant marketplaces.
