Job description

The Vice President of Operations over the Western Division of will have oversight and responsibility for part of the fastest growing division at Embark: outpatient clinics. The VP of Operations will be responsible for building the infrastructure and team needed to launch de novo programs in their respective market. This executive will implement the growth strategy by building upon Embark’s scalable operating systems and processes. This person will achieve scalable results by recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retaining a best-in-class operations team that drives for growth while maintaining or increasing the overall quality of treatment provided.

Additionally, the VP of Operations will ensure Embark has an operational and clinical playbook for both launches and continual operations, delivering consistent and predictable results across clinical, quality, and financial areas. They will partner with other functions to build a clear clinic program model and ensure that the business and financial model is established, scalable, and repeatable.

  • Strengthen the existing operating infrastructure to be scalable and support the company as it drives towards continued growth with P&L responsibility for all outpatient centers in the respective market
  • Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and lead clinical and business decision-making for the outpatient business unit
  • Balance high-level strategy creation with a heavy attention to detail on execution and team building
  • Oversee operational management of outpatient market locations, including the achievement of key performance indicators as determined by the Vice President - Operations in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer
  • Build the outpatient operational leadership team for respective market

  • 5 - 7 years of multi-site experience in healthcare
  • Significant deNovo and site selection experience
  • Experience scaling and opening programs
  • Experience hiring and developing operators
  • Proven healthcare leader with operational responsibility over a multi-geographic region
  • Track record of delivering rapid and successful multi-site de novo growth in a timely manner while staying consistent with operational budget goals
  • Strong at balancing the financial, operational, and clinical aspects of a business through a period of rapid de novo growth
  • Consistent delivery of top quartile or better operational performance based on defined KPIs
  • Track record of identifying, recruiting, coaching, and retaining top talent
  • Servant leader who is a culture builder and is passionate about adolescent behavioral health
  • Comfortable holding teams accountable for operational results
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Lives in respective market or is willing to relocate and travel heavily to market
