SUMMARY
The VP of Operations will own full P&L responsibility for the entirety assigned region, location(s), and customer(s). This position will lead a team of direct reports of a managerial level, interact with key customer contacts, and have accountability for driving operational efficiency while improving the overall customer experience. Leading constant improvement of Operations, improving margin performance over time, maintain high levels of customer service and successfully growing the operation will be a key focus of this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement and Disseminate Growth Strategies: Ensure effective growth strategies and processes are implemented within operations.
  • Strategic Objectives and Deliverables: Establish strategic objectives and deliverables in coordination with customer KPIs.
  • Customer Interface: Interact with customers to meet their needs and maintain solid relationships.
  • Business Scope Understanding: Maintain a thorough understanding of the business scope to train and set expectations for operations and staff.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor the management team (including managers of singular, multi, or regional capacities) while providing continuous oversight of Operations.
  • Operational Procedures and Adherence: Develop and enforce procedures and protocols for operational effectiveness.
  • Vendor and Contractor Oversight: Provide oversight for the selection of vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure best value and service standards.
  • Financial Performance Review: Actively oversee and review P&L performance, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.
  • Budget Planning and Guidance: Participate in the budget planning process, recommend annual operation budgets, and provide guidance to the management team.
  • Performance Measurement and Process Improvement: Regularly review key performance metrics and identify process improvement strategies.
  • Effective Communication: Establish strong communication lines between operations, leadership, and other relevant parties
  • Senior Leadership Communication: Keep senior leadership informed about performance, personnel issues, and business opportunities via meetings and reporting.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to required safety protocols and compliance requirements (legal, company, and customer).
  • Site Visits: Conduct regular operation site visits across all locations to maintain relationships and operational oversight.

QUALIFICATONS

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, to include a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Senior level role (Director/Sr Director or above) overseeing multiple areas/regions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday
  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work under deadlines and specific time frames
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Must have excellent management skills and adept at business development, as well as building a team.
  • Must have full knowledge of regions accounting including P&L, budgeting and variances
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, ability to learn and effectively use move management software, timekeeping and other software applications used in the daily performance of job duties.
  • Manages multiple subordinate managers who supervise multiple employees in Operations and Finance.
  • Financial management and business acumen skills
  • Strong leadership abilities

Climate controlled office working environment. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Some facilities may cause exposure to warehouse working environment where loud noises are typical and exposure to varying weather temperatures may exist.
