VP of Nursing Operations and Quality

Job Description

SBH Health System, is a 400+ Acute Care Hospital in central Bronx, New York. As an academic system, SBH is affiliated with the CUNY School of Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, supporting FQHC primary care centers, faculty practice sites, and an on-campus Ambulatory Care Center.

 

The Vice President of Nursing Operations & Quality with have direct oversight of the following areas: 

 

Staffing and the Staffing Office

• Manage and evaluate all staffing coordinators
• Day to Day staffing oversight and decision maker
• Ensure all unit schedules are completed and posted 30 days prior to start
• Oversee vacation requests/approvals of all units
• Lead Clinical Staffing Guideline Committee and all NYSDOH requirements

Nursing Payroll

• Manage and evaluate Nursing Payroll Coordinator
• Manage all agency contracts and rates, onboarding of agency staff, oversight of agency schedules
• Coordinate staffing and payroll responsibilities to ensure proper coding, charges, etc

 

Nursing Supervisor

• Manage and evaluate all Administrative Nursing Supervisors
• Provide oversight, education and guidance to supervisors related to patient throughput, patient rounding/experience, quality audits, etc

 

Nursing Quality

• Responsible for Nursing Department board reports, QAPI presentations
• Resource to Directors in the investigation and reporting of incidents and RCA’s
• Resource to Directors to establish, manage and present dashboards
• Collaborate to improve patient experience and throughput initiatives.

 

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's in Nursing or relevant field preferred
• Active NYS RN license
• Minimum 5 years Nursing Leadership experience
