Job description

Overview:

The Vice President of Catastrophe Operations is responsible for all aspects of our response to Catastrophic events nationwide. In addition, the position is responsible for meeting department operating and claims handling goals for all carrier partners. The Head of Catastrophe Operations is responsible for claims productivity, client specific service results, and development of those Supervisors and Managers whom directly report to the position. The position will work with the Chief Claims Officer to develop the annual business plan for the claims operation for which they are responsible.


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the RYZE Catastrophe Plan for all deployable weather events.
  • Assist with the training of field adjusters in the off season and at the time of all deployable weather events.
  • Assist with deploying field adjusters, desk adjusters and examiners in response to weather events.
  • Monitor field team metrics to ensure strict adherence to client performance standards.
  • Actively recruit and retain field adjusters, desk adjusters and examiners.
  • Coach, challenge, and advise senior leaders on strategic and tactical Catastrophe Response issues as needed.
  • Provide active leadership and coaching on all performance issues such as reward, talent, performance, organizational development, change, culture, and leadership.
  • Cultivate a culture that excels in communication and collaboration.
  • Perform other duties and or projects as assigned by the Chief Claims Officer.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or other designations preferred.
  • 5+ years of Catastrophe Response leadership experience with significant experience in management of independent adjusting business, including experience with strategic planning and employee development.
  • Proven track record in attracting and developing talent through coaching, feedback and providing opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the proven ability of partnering with individuals at all levels.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation), interpersonal and networking skills; including the ability to cogently articulate claims issues to all levels of the company.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
