Summary of Job:
The VP Marketing, Ski Ride School and Rental Retail is critical to the success of Vail Resorts’ long-range growth plan. This leader is accountable for driving and achieving the long-range plan revenue for the Ski and Ride School line of business and Vail Resorts Rental and Retail lines of business, including My Epic Gear.
This role will be responsible for owning and driving revenue growth through a data-driven understanding of the addressable market, innovation, and pricing. By deploying a guest centric strategy for segmenting, targeting and personalizing our marketing, this leader will further establish these ancillary businesses as a competitive advantage for Vail Resorts, and ensure achievement of financial targets.
The ideal candidate is currently a VP with 12+ years of experience and a proven track record as a high potential talent demonstrating drive, ambition, business acumen, and emotional intelligence. This leader has a deep understanding of analytics, with the skills and competencies to lead a centralized team as well as lead cross-functionally to achieve business objectives. This role will use these key insights to develop the strategies and tactics to influence guest behavior.

Business Acumen – full P&L understanding of each line of business and understanding of the drivers to achieve VR2030 long range plan
Re-imagine – the ability to innovate the business
Drive – capability to understand the Total Addressable Market (TAM) and create the strategies and tactics to influence the TAM
Resource Efficiency – ability to make tough decisions to prioritize allocation of company resources, talent, opex, and capex, in order to achieve the highest ROI in service of the company’s long-range growth plan
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Understand the full P&L for each business and drivers of each business.
Create the strategies and tactics to achieve the VR2030 Long Range Plan results
Attract, hire, develop and proactively appoint top talent to high impact roles in service of the company
Launch the new My Epic Gear business in FY24
Lead cross-functionally, influencing Executive Commitee-level stakeholders with data and drawing clear narratives from complex data sets
Manage complex projects and partner with cross-functional teams and deliver results in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Leverage first party data to understand guest behavior, predict guest behavior and influence guest behavior.
Create guest-centric go-to-market processes, roles and responsibilities
Create hypotheses and test plans based on data and insights.
Integrate data and go to market plans including website, guest research, content, CRM, media.
Develop strategies and innovation plans to achieve business objectives.
Demonstrate strong learning agility, emotional intelligence, self-motivation, integrity, and a thirst for learning
Build, mentor, and manage a team of high performing employees
Develop, execute and support talent strategies and succession planning to align with Marketing and Enterprise business and talent goals
Job Requirements:
12+ years’ experience and proven track record owning and driving results
Bachelor’s degree in Business.
MBA preferred.
Proven track record of proactively attracting, developing and appointing top talent to high impact roles.
Proficient data analytics
Effectively manages stakeholders and leads enterprise change
Applies systems thinking to generate new thoughts and opportunities; has ability to build on strategic and innovative thoughts/ideas

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $233,000.00 - $265,000.00 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
