Job description

The VP, Global Brand Strategy will help shape the Brand’s strategic vision and plan that will drive the Brand’s global growth agenda and supporting business development opportunities.


The VP will partner with the Brand President and Global Leadership team to lead the strategic planning process, identify new growth vectors and opportunities for continuous improvement, and lead cross-functional teams to bring growth initiatives to life.


The VP will also lead Global Consumer Insights and analytics. This will include supporting Global functions in identifying key consumer insights/trends and aiding in embedding in product development and marketing activation processes. In addition, they will support brand leadership and functional teams in leveraging consumer data (loyalty member acquisition and retention, conversion, etc.) to activate against the Brand Strategy.


In addition, the VP will lead Global Operations (inclusive of facilitating global seasonal stage-gates and decision rights) along with Global Consumer Insights and Analytics functions.


This role reports to the Global Brand President.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Lead development of the Brand’s long-term strategic vision, and to communicate, track and measure progress.
  • Lead the ongoing strategic planning process and calendar; work with process owners and brand executives to provide updates to the management team as needed. Execute projects and/or discrete analyses and present findings and recommendations to senior management as requested.
  • Serve as internal consultant for key business leaders in vetting strategic ideas by providing analytical, problem solving and strategic frameworks. Partner in identifying whitespace growth opportunities and develop plans for executive initiatives, including line extensions into new categories, new consumer segments and new markets.
  • Support the Brand President in strategic, brand and corporate deliverables, including quarterly & annual reporting, investor relations, Board of Directors reports, and other similar deliverables.
  • Help TNF’s leaders Transform their organizations, processes, and operational methodologies to better serve our consumer and business in a Consumer Minded, Retail Centric, Hyper Digital world.
  • Lead Global Consumer Insights and Analytics and ensure consumer data is activated upon within the organization.
  • Establish seasonal Global operational calendar and key decisions through stage gates of go-to-market process.

Skills for Success

  • Passion for working on an iconic outdoor brand and living the brand values
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA strongly preferred.
  • 6-10 years of experience in Management Consulting, Strategic Planning, Business Development, transformation, or a related field.
  • Extensive consumer/retail industry experience required.
  • Experience in transformation function and digital highly preferred. At minimum first-hand knowledge of how a transformation organization should operate effectively.
  • Strong understanding of strategic frameworks, problem-solving and analytical skills, including advanced modeling.
  • Entrepreneurial orientation, client-service mentality and sensitivity in working across cultures are required.
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including a strong ability to distill large data sets and to craft strategic narratives. Must be able to connect work to the "big picture" brand/business goals.
  • Demonstrated track record of academic and/or professional achievement, including experience managing others.
  • Ability to work across all levels of the organization and to manage multiple tasks on very tight deadlines. 
  • Must be able to perform under pressure, short deadlines and in high visibility settings.
  • Advanced Excel modeling and Powerpoint are required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time by air and overnight.

Hiring Range:

$251,424.00 USD - $314,280.00 USD Annually


Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.


Long-Term Incentive Potential: This position is eligible to participate in a Long-Term Incentive Plan. Specific details of the plan will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
