The Lighthouse, a division of Whalar, is a first-of-its-kind Campus for Creators and their teams to learn, make, and belong. To meet the ever-changing needs of creators and the evolving Creator Economy, The Lighthouse combines learning and development programs, state-of-the-art production studios, workspaces, cultural and social events, mentorship programs, and an academy — a space designed for the creator community to gather and thrive. Open to established and emerging creators through an application process, The Lighthouse is set to debut in Venice, California, and Brooklyn, New York, in Summer 2024, with plans for London in late 2025.

About the role:

As a key member of the leadership team, the VP of Brand Partnerships will play a pivotal role in shaping The Lighthouse's brand narrative, mission, and company culture. Including developing sales strategies and defining & executing revenue goals across Brand Partnerships and experiential initiatives.

Here's what you'll do day-to-day:

  • Collaborate with leadership to define The Lighthouse brand narrative, relevance, and mission.
  • Develop a GTM strategy for Brand Partnerships with defined revenue goals.
  • Create clear KPIs, allocate resources, and establish budgets for departmental success.
  • Partner with a cross functional team to ideate and build custom and scaled sponsorship packages for a wide range of brand verticals.
  • Develop sales materials & collateral in partnership with marketing. This includes; related content and assets to delight brand partners and the creator community.
  • Lead revenue-driving partnerships from new and existing clients, to achieve annual, and event specific revenue goals.
  • Oversee business development strategy, prospecting, creative ideation, pitching, closing, contracts, experiential execution, and account management.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision makers for client and media agencies.
  • Lead major contract negotiations
  • Ensure sustainable client satisfaction through effective partnership management.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • +15 years of experience in developing and managing marketing/content partnerships, demonstrating proficiency in all stages of the development cycle, including; market sizing, lead generation, pitching, negotiation, closing & on-going upsell.
  • Must have deep and established relationships with Eastern and Western region clients and agencies.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of achieving KPIs and revenue targets.
  • Passion for creating innovative, culturally-relevant experiences.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, managing day-to-day sales goals and process refinement.
  • Ability to manage & motivate a large cross functional team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $210,000 and serves as a general guideline reflecting the potential compensation for the role. The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the candidate's experience, expertise, alignment with the position's requirements, and ultimately budget approvals.
