Job description

Remote /Hybrid: 4 days remote with 1 day in the office
SUMMARY: Responsible for verifying and certifying the accuracy of monthly Section 8 Vouchers by analyzing tenant / voucher data, processing and making final payment determinations. Ensures compliance with all related HUD regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor compliance by owners
  • Verify that the owner completes all recertifications in an accurate and timely manner
  • Verify that the amount of the housing assistance payment paid on behalf of each resident family is accurate
  • Monitor owner follow-up efforts on discrepancies
  • Verify that the owner’s payment request does not include any covered units for which Section 8 assistance has been abated
  • Verify that the owner’s payment request does not exceed the HUD authorized unit mix
  • Determine if authorized contract rent or utility adjustments have been implemented timely and accurately.
  • Notify the owner in writing of corrections
  • When payment discrepancies occur, provide the Owner a detailed reconciliation report, prior to their receipt of subsidy
  • Complete processing to allow for timely Owner payment per HUD regulations and department established deadlines
  • Notify Payment Process Manager within one (1) business day upon identification of inappropriate payments
  • Maintain clear and accurate audit packages
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive documents, information, and internal system passwords

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Three years’ experience working in a professional business environment is preferred.
