ABOUT CMFCAA
The Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association is a not-for-profit agency that educates, supports, & advocates for foster, adoptive, & kinship children, youth, & families in central Missouri by offering services & partnering with community & governmental agencies to develop healthy & self-sufficient individuals & families.
Founded in 2007 by a former foster youth, foster parents, and adoptive parents, the CMFCAA is a community service organization that provides for the needs of foster, adoptive, kinship, and guardianship youth and families. What began as a small support group has grown into a multifaceted organization that provides direct support, education, services and advocacy to foster and adoptive families in a 24-county central Missouri region. Currently, we are assisting over 640 foster families, over 1400foster children, over 400 adopted children in our service area. Our goal is to be a support to the families, children and youth in this area, and we work tirelessly to provide much needed services to them.

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary job duty of the Volunteer Department is to integrate volunteers with a passion for our mission and the families we serve. We must be Stewards of our support, be it in time, talent, or treasure. The Volunteer Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the organization has enough volunteers to fulfill its service mission. To meet that goal, a Volunteer Supervisor must perform a variety of duties involving volunteer recruitment, training, and program planning. This is a dynamic individual that plays a critical role in the success of our programs by recruiting, developing, training, and retaining volunteers to support CMFCAA's various programs. They will oversee the coordination and administration of all aspects of our ongoing volunteer programs, including planning, organizing and supervising program activities. The Volunteer Supervisor works with Volunteer Coordinators and volunteers in all 24 counties served by CMFCAA to integrate volunteers in all aspects of the business to optimize utilization of resources. In addition, the Volunteer Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of volunteer event coordination and planning. They will be a strong advocate for our foster care education and community outreach efforts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop continuing education opportunities to deepen volunteers' understanding of all aspects of CMFCAA
• Recruit, engage, and retain volunteers for appropriate program activities
• Participate in public presentations of CMFCAA programs and services
• Able to work independently and be self-motivated
• Develop, maintain, and update key elements of the volunteer program, including working with HR to create detailed written job descriptions of all volunteer positions
• Schedule volunteer orientation and training for new and incoming volunteers
• Manage the volunteer onboarding and schedule to fill all operational needs
• Responsible for filling all volunteer spots needed to run CMFCAA events
• Proactively build relationships within the community to develop new partnerships
• Maintain volunteer database for reporting purposes
• Communicate with all departments of the organization to identify available opportunities and needs for volunteers
• Keep all volunteers informed about CMFCAA and opportunities for involvement
• Ensure volunteers are satisfied by creating a healthy work environment
• Maintain files, records, applications, and other data concerning the volunteer program
• Write and publish guidelines, best practices, and procedures for the volunteer program
• Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and encourage others
• Responsible for managing 100+ volunteers, 3 volunteer coordinators, service-learning students, and interns.
• Other duties as assigned
• Travel is required for programs/events held within the service counties. There is up to 50% travel with this position
• Evenings, nights, and some weekend work may be required
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree in a human service-related field is preferred
• 1 year of supervisory experience is required
• 3 years experience in volunteer management is preferred
• Must have a clean driving record to be eligible for company vehicle use
• Must have reliable transportation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (mostly Word and Excel)
• Able to be trained quickly (specifically on Mac systems)
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and public speaking ability
• Commitment to enhancing and evolving strong and professional volunteer program and event calendar.
• Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated, yet seek guidance when necessary.
• Lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to create and work within budget and time constraints.
• Ability to be flexible in work hours including some evening and weekend appointments.
• Outgoing personality and ability to engage with diverse adults and children with a trauma background.
