Job description

The SIFMA Foundation is the nation's leader in providing financial education for youth of all backgrounds to help close opportunity gaps. We are now hiring a Volunteer Manager to oversee our exciting Volunteer Programs that tap tens of thousands of financial experts, professionals and caring adults each year to lend their time and talent to benefit youth, schools and nonprofits nationwide.
The Volunteer Manager will implement and develop SIFMA Foundation's high-impact volunteer initiatives to generate better educational and life outcomes for youth. Bringing together the shared interests of the business, education, government and nonprofit sectors, the Volunteer Manager will leverage the Foundation's brand, assets and relationships to raise awareness and visibility, increase the volunteerism, and build capacity for expanded impact.
A key focus for this role will be designing and delivering turn-key volunteer opportunities that complement SIFMA Foundation's critically acclaimed portfolio of financial education programs, which have reached 22 million youth, including:

  • Marketing/promotion, coordination, reporting, and managing a state-of-the-art volunteer website.
  • Expanding skills-based Volunteer Programs to leverage the unique talents and expertise of industry professionals and fulfill the needs of students, teachers, schools and youth-serving nonprofits.
  • Working closely with corporate volunteer contacts, state licensees, educators, and nonprofit managers to plan and execute customized engagement efforts.
  • Developing, vetting, and distributing volunteer materials.
  • Serving as the primary writer and editor of related reports, presentations, and appeals.
  • Building scalable models to meet aggressive goals, establish performance measures, monitor results, and evaluate effectiveness of volunteerism.
  • Identifying, cultivating, and soliciting the involvement of potential partners to expand Foundation's strategic relationships.
  • Collaborating with Foundation staff to execute strategic goals and needs.

Qualifications:
The Volunteer Manager will be an energetic and accomplished professional possessing the following skills and experience:
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in volunteer engagement, corporate philanthropy, school-based Volunteer Programs, and events management or related field.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Record of personally developing and expanding volunteerism for an enterprise or cause.
  • Experience coordinating volunteer initiatives onsite at corporate offices and in schools.
  • Ability to develop, implement and execute in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups.
  • An understanding of volunteer and CRM databases.
  • A passion for and/or expertise in K-12 education and/or youth financial education.
  • Commitment to increasing positive educational outcomes in schools and for nonprofit organizations.
  • A people person and strong relationship-builder.
  • Commitment to on-time and on-budget delivery of goals.
  • Experience and effectiveness interacting with individuals of all backgrounds and presenting to management.
  • A results-driven, positive attitude, proven leadership capabilities, tremendous energy, and strategic thinking skills, and ability to collaborate with and motivate others.
  • A strong work ethic; high standards of excellence, accuracy and attention to detail; impeccable integrity, judgment, and discretion; and ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Excellent written and oral communications, including direct experience producing high-quality communications across social and other media.
  • Ability to conduct high-level research, consolidate, analyze and interpret data and create appropriate frameworks and models for tracking and evaluating program outcomes and impact.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
