Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati, OH. Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller is a Catholic high school in the Marianist tradition. Moeller strives to educate all students, regardless of ability, in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers. Moeller is nationally recognized for their House System and continues to be a leader in the integration of technology, celebrating over 20 years as a one-to-one tablet school. Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum which includes over 30 Advanced Placement/College Credit Plus courses, as well as courses in visual and performing arts, world language, business, and information technology.
Moeller is seeking a full-time Vocal Music teacher to join our dynamic, dedicated, and collaborative faculty. The choral program is robust – including 134 young men. Starting in August 2024, the successful candidate will teach five classes (e.g., Men’s Chorus I, II, III and Vocal Ensemble) and lead the choral program at Moeller.
Selected Duties
- Develop interactive lesson plans that cater to various skill levels and learning styles, ensuring a balanced focus on vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, and ensemble performance.
- Provide substantive and timely feedback to student and parents on academic progress via our learner management system: MoeCampus.
- Organize and lead musical components of school Masses with an emphasis on student involvement and engagement.
- Coordinate and lead regular performances, concerts, and events showcasing the achievements of the choral program, including school-specific musical selections for Masses. Encourage student participation in local and regional music events and competitions.
- Participate in departmental Professional Learning Communities and attend educational conferences/workshops to maintain and improve content, pedagogical and/or technological knowledge.
- Serve as a mentor group teacher in our House System, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Candidates will possess at least a Bachelor’s degree and hold an Ohio Teacher Certification (or be license eligible) as a Music teacher 7-12. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of vocal techniques, music theory, and choral repertoire.
- Candidates will have classroom teaching experience, be a lifelong learner, and possess a comprehensive understanding of best practices for educating adolescent boys.
- Ideal candidates will be dynamic, personable, energetic individuals who work well with high school students and their families and will be able to help foster the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of each student. Compensation, Benefits and Hiring
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a robust benefits package including personal days, healthcare, dental, FSA, 401K option with employer contribution, paid lunch program, tuition remission for dependents, and graduate school tuition reimbursement. The position is full-time; contract is effective August 1.
