VMWare vRealize Operations (vROps) Manager

Knowledge Management, Inc. (KMI) is seeking a VMWare vRealize Operations (vROps) Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will support our Department of State (DOS) Program. This initiative is to provide IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.

Shift/Location: First Shift/DC Metro area or Remote

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

• Engineering support for a multi-instance vRealize Operations Manager system utilizing a proxy model.
• Maintains stable vRealize monitoring system through performing day to day operations and maintenance, working trouble tickets, and working problems or bugs to resolution.
• Instruments vRealize monitoring and reporting on VMware infrastructure.
• Works trouble tickets with vendor.
• Tracks and prioritizes own work independently.
• With little guidance layout and execute a roadmap for continued improvement of a vRealize Operations Manager system.
• Ability to translate a large vision statement into several smaller tasks and create a plan of execution which accomplishes the overall vision.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Requires US Citizenship and an Active Secret Government Security Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years experience or Masters degree and 3-5 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Ability to become and Subject Matter Expert and any COTS product with no formal training.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding operational environment with little oversight.
• Possesses the fortitude to achieve success in spite of obstacles that would make others fail.
• Proficient with vROps proxy configurations.
• Familiar with Active Directory and vIDM integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comp TIA A+ Certification
• COTS software development and integration
• Experience in managing a vRealize Operations Manager system or ability to become a Subject Matter Expert of any enterprise monitoring tools suite software in a short time window with little assistance or formal training.
• Gain customer confidence through sound guidance and repeated success.
• Knowledge of industry best practices for full life cycle systems management.
• Linux Administration.
• Fault and Performance Monitoring tools experience to include, but not limited to, Zabbix, Splunk, AppDynamics, and/or OEM.
