Summary
Provides selected vision therapy care to patients under the direction of a medical provider.
Job Duties
- Modifies treatments, procedures, and goals to fit the patient's situation.
- Records documentation on out-patients weekly, if the patient is seen at least weekly, or as frequently as the patient is treated
- Documents treatment related to and progress towards the goals established in the initial occupational therapy assessment.
- Modifies the patients' itreatment as required by the patients' response to treatment.
- Provides appropriately indicated occupational therapy care to all assigned patients.
- Provides occupational therapy care in a supportive, caring, and friendly manner.
- Provides treatment consistent with the patients' medical condition, rehab potential, disability, and discharge needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program and completion of clinical affiliations as required for completion of OTA curriculum.
- 2 years in a Healthcare environment.
- BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire and
- COTA - Occupational Therapy Assistant i Certified Upon Hire
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
