How will your role impact First Command?


The Visa Representative completes the initial analysis of all requests for credit cards and submits decision recommendations to the Banking Officer with the appropriate lending authority. The representative will ensure timely origination of new accounts on approved requests. Assist First Command clients and field advisors and their staff with a world class experience on any credit card related issues.


What will you be doing?

  • Collection and investigation of all pertinent information associated with a credit card request
  • Complete financial analysis necessary to evaluate risk associated with a credit card request
  • Review and evaluate applicant’s debt to income ratio
  • Review credit report to evaluate an applicant’s payment history and debt summary
  • Apply results of the credit analysis to First Command Bank’s (FCB) underwriting guidelines and policies
  • Makes appropriate recommendation of an extension of credit
  • Timely entry of new credit card accounts and appropriate follow-up communication with clients and advisors
  • Reviews daily system reports as an audit function to combat internal and/or external fraud
  • Reviews daily Falcon Fraud alerts to determine what level of involvement is needed by FCB
  • Research and work the reissue of new credit cards for clients whose personal information has been compromised by an external data breach
  • Receive, research, and follow up with clients for all credit card disputes per regulatory guidelines

What skills/qualifications do you need?

Education

  • High School education or equivalent (college preferred)

Work Experience

  • 1 – 3 years banking or related experience
  • 1 – 2 years call center experience (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to demonstrate exceptional client experience skills
  • Must possess strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Must be able to apply bank policy and underwriting guidelines to all situations
  • Must be able to discern when exceptions to policy are appropriate
  • Must be able to apply all appropriate lending regulations to the process
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information
  • Must be familiar with and able to operate Microsoft Excel and Word and able to learn other systems as appropriate
  • Must possess the ability to take ownership of the duties and produce accurate results
