Job Description
Job Overview: The Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) coordinator will report to the VDC Manager, or lead as assigned by the manager, and will be expected to coordinate with EZARC's project teams.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participate in BIM set-up, standards and coordination process on projects
- Establish early standards for data exchange with entire Project Team to optimize use of the BIM for scheduling, quantity take-off, estimating, etc. during all stages of the project
- Participate in technological collaboration between project team members, client, architect, builder, consultants, subcontractors, etc.
- Facilitate the exchange and coordination of the 3D model with consultants and contractor/fabricators
- Run clash detection studies and generate reports to project team.
- Assign responsible parties' workflows and manage these tasks to successful completion
- Ensure the construction geometry is error-free and presented in an efficient manner for the crews
- Interface with field survey crews and provide building visualization input
- Maintain model libraries throughout the project and create archive record models at completion
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry would be preferred
- Working level knowledge of Autodesk's Navisworks Manage
- Minimum 1 year of Revit experience or similar software
- Ability to communicate and present Design and/or construction ideas to a variety of audiences
- Strong verbal, written and electronic communication skills for responding to information requests
- Ability to successfully host, run and document field coordination meetings
- Must be able to access all areas and levels of construction site for work progress review
- Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and digital fabrication experience would be preferred
Work Availability:
- May be required to travel less than 5% of the time.
- Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance.
- Available in times of emergency
Physical Demands:
May occasionally stand and walk for long periods of time outdoors in heat and cold. May be required to wear a mask or face covering and must be in sufficient health to do so. Must lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasion. Must have the hand and finger dexterity to work a keyboard.
