The Mission of SAFE is to lead our community in eliminating domestic violence and sexual violence through prevention, advocacy, education, and healing. It is SAFE's vision to prevent domestic and sexual violence through education, advocacy, and appropriate intervention. All victims of domestic violence and sexual violence will be provided safety, treated with dignity and respect and given the opportunity to create long lasting changes that will result in a life free of violence and abuse.
General Summary: The Rape Prevention Educator is responsible for providing sexual Violence Prevention and activism directed toward social change and prevention of sexual violence. This role involves sexual violence public awareness, prevention education in schools and executing community outreach and social justice campaigns.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide prevention education to high school students and college students in the community.
- Facilitates overall design and coordination of a comprehensive educational outreach program targeting students, staff, and faculty with the goal of preventing rape and sexual assault.
- Facilitate community campaigns and social justice activism efforts that are in alignment with the agency’s mission, values and guiding principles.
- Establishes and chairs a county-wide Rape Prevention Task Force. Solicits committee membership, schedules meetings, sets agenda items, delegates assignments and provides technical and administrative support to the council.
- Host trainings for a variety of professional audiences.
- Perform ongoing outreach and networking to foster collaboration and maintain awareness in the Transylvania Community.
- Builds and maintain strong partner relationships with school administration/staff, community partner agencies and other community members.
- Coordinates, develops and implements an outreach and marketing strategy including print, electronic and website content development.
- Complete reports and documentation to support classes, presentations and events.
- Research, create and update educational materials and activities.
- Participate in meetings/trainings for local and statewide sexual assault coalitions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $48,000.00 per year
