Position Summary & Duties Responsible
Position Summary
Videographics Producer will research, design, develop, plan, produce and direct television programming for government cable television channel. Will provide technical expertise and manage the completion of programs including editing and final documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Research and develop County media programs, mini-documentaries, informational PSA's and educational programming; live television coverage of government meetings, studio productions, news events, cultural performances and special events.
  2. Produce and direct video, studio shows, and presentations including preparation of studio and other venues serving as videographer and/or audio-lighting specialist.
  3. Coordinate the planning, production and operation of video and/or studio production activities and projects.
  4. Coordinate and schedule programming for County departments and City staff.
  5. Write script, develop ideas, schedule interviews, hosts, and facilities, recruit talent and design sets.
  6. Participate in the design of video graphics, titles, music, and creative look of shows; provide final editorial decisions and recommendations to management.
  7. Identify opportunities for improving media services, delivery methods and procedures; analyze resource needs with management and implement improvements.
  8. Perform minor equipment repairs and troubleshooting procedures; coordinate production equipment maintenance, repair and upgrades with appropriate departments and outside agencies, contractors or vendors.
  9. May exercise technical and functional project leadership or supervision and training over County staff and contractors; may prepare and maintain reports, log or files on production activities and projects as assigned.
  10. Assist in maintaining inventory, recommend purchases and work with Coordinator to order video and stage materials and equipment.
  11. Assist in maintaining the department's internal television distribution and network.
  12. Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of video and/or stage productions.
  13. Incumbent(s) in this classification may handle sensitive and/or confidential records, plans, documents or decisions that require maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. ?

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or related academic field, and two (2) years experience in video/film production, either through commercial, industrial, cable access or public/education television. Any equivalent combination or related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:
  1. Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.
  2. Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.
  3. Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.
  4. Employee must complete required Supervisor classes if applicable.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Duties are divided approximately 50% outdoors, 50% indoors. Indoor duties are performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
  2. Indoor duties are performed on an even, cement, tile or carpeted surface.
  3. Outdoor surfaces include natural ground, concrete, asphalt, ramps, stairs, wood decks or scaffolds.
  4. Worker is exposed to natural weather conditions while doing remote locations.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, AND MATERIALS
  1. Employee handles writing utensils, various paperwork, files and reports in administrative duties.
  2. Employee handles camera case, camera, video and still cameras, light kit, tripod, dolly (handtruck), cables, dubbing equipment, special effects generator, tape machines, character generator, stage sets and risers.
  3. Employee drives county vehicle during performance of essential duties in the field.
  4. Employee handles personal computers and software packages.
