About this role:
The Videographer is responsible for the creation and distribution of short form video to be published on USGA digital channels (social, USGA websites, other digital platforms and broadcast). The videographer must be an excellent storyteller who offers innovative and creative ideas that add value to projects. This role will bring story ideas to the table, take other's ideas to the next level, and create engaging content that will appeal to the USGA's audiences and USGA's target audiences.
- Focuses on digital first short form video content. Works closely with creative producer and marketing/communications leads on short form video projects from pre-production through post-production
- Serves as lead shooter/editor on shoots as assigned
- Works closely with freelance social content creators
The videographer is a solutions-oriented self-starter behind the camera and in the edit suite, who can keep the
USGA's goals and mission in mind when making decisions. The successful team member understands how to tailor the story to different platforms, including social media, web and broadcast. The videographer has experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and will have strong interpersonal and project management skills.
What you'll do:
Create (shoot and edit) high quality digital-first shortform video content in support of the USGA's mission. Travel to championship sites and remote production locations as assigned. Collaborate with Creative Team to ensure that video production meets the highest of standards Responsible for all aspects of production, including:
- Concept development and brainstorming
- Screening and logging when assigned
- Editorial - picture and sound
- "Hands-on" editing of all projects on in-house edit suite
- Work closely with in-house design teams to integrate graphics into productions as needed
- Ability to finish videos for digital output (color correction/balance and sound design/audio mixing) including exports and compressing for individual channels
- Media/digital asset management
- Collaborate with freelance video vendors, agencies and consultants
Where you'll be:
- This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in discipline emphasizing storytelling and multimedia content creation is preferred
- 5 years experience in professional video production environment
- A strong demo reel is required, please provide a link with resume
- Proficient with Adobe Premiere, knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop
- Proficient with DSLR and Cinema cameras
- Understanding of common video codecs, acquisition formats, resolution and frame rates
- Strong understanding of, and passion for visual storytelling
- Self-starter with high standards and accountability
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure deadline environment
- Must be detail-oriented and maintain high levels of quality control for various elements during productions,
- editing and final delivery of content
- Ability to work with a team and take direction as well as work independently
- Embrace new production technologies, demonstrate a desire to learn and implement new techniques in
- productions
- Exhibit a "no task is too small" attitude
- Must be willing travel, work onsite or remote and after hours, weekends and holidays in support of
- championships, initiatives and breaking news
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- A knowledge and passion for golf is a plus
