We are seeking a Video Teleconferencing and Audio Visual Systems Technician to support our customer’s IT operations in Norfolk, VA. The effort provides IT services, audio/video support, application development, network engineering, operations, information assurance, and knowledge management support. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret Clearance. 

 

Video Teleconferencing and Audio Visual Systems Technician Primary Duties:

  • Provide support, administration, and management of all customer-owned/managed Classified and Unclassified systems that support the VTC systems.
  • Provide a competent level of technical support for handling the advanced reported problems requiring troubleshooting and basic analysis methods. Support is primarily for the staff and secondarily extended to all VTC customers and users that interface with the customer via VTC.
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves VTC related problems and activities.
  • Researches, analyzes and recommends the implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any VTC related deficiencies or to enhance VTC performance.
  • Maintain VTC systems and applications security integrity in support of C&A packages.
  • Applies Defense in Depth methodologies to the hardening to all associated networks and systems such as STIG and IAVA.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call technical support as related to operational support of the customer.
  • Develop, test, implement, administer, maintain, and life cycle support of all AV and VTC systems in support of the customer.
  • Must ensure the customer remains 98%+ operational capable and compliant with all associated AV and VTC standards.
  • Provide professional configurational support for all VTC related infrastructure and endpoints.
  • Maintain, install, and update all VTC operational licensing within Cisco licensing portal as required.
  • Consults, reviews and performs AV and VTC systems engineering, planning studies and operational statistical analysis for all AV and VTC systems primarily with the customer and secondarily to partner organizations.
  • Analyze, consult, recommend, and initiate AV and VTC upgrades to increase and maintain operational efficiency and global interoperability.
  • Recommend and implement immediate solutions to known problems as they occur.
  • Responsible as Tier 3 engineer to oversee and monitor all AV/VTC daily operations, ensure technical and operational problems are identified early, and to implement appropriate corrective actions as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring internal security standards are adopted and maintained for all AV and VTC systems.
  • Maintains personal certification as a member of the Cyber Security Workforce.
  • Resolve complex problems leveraging AV/VTC experience, sound judgement, and resourcefulness, keeping supervisor informed of issues that arise.

Video Teleconferencing and Audio Visual Systems Technician Education and Qualifications:

 

  • High School or Career Field / Community: Information Technology.
  • 5+ years of related functional and or technical experience in support of Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems such as CISCO.
  • In-depth knowledge with Cisco Unified Communication technology.
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to configure, operate and maintain CISCO Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to configure, operate, and maintain CISCO Video Expressway Core and Edge Servers.
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to configure operate and Maintain CISCO Telepresence Management Suite Servers (TMS).
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to configure operate and Maintain CISCO Meeting Servers (CMS).

Essential Requirements:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance.
  • Must obtain Cisco Telepresence Video Specialist (CTVS) certification within ONE year from start date.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand, and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to workstation. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and the public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
