Overview of the Video Production Editor Intern
1A Auto is seeking a talented, creative, and efficient Video Production Editor Intern to join our in-house Video Production studio in Pepperell, MA. 1A Auto’s YouTube channel has over 2.3 million subscribers and is one of the leading automotive channels on the platform. Our team’s goal is to empower 1A Auto’s customers to repair their vehicles themselves. Video Production Editor Interns will work closely with our videography staff to learn the fundamentals of camera work, video editing, and producing/directing talent. Interns must work during regular studio hours (Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm). There are no remote work opportunities with this position.
Interns will begin by shadowing our Video Production Editors to learn how our operation works. They will observe our team when they shoot and edit videos for YouTube. If interns excel in certain areas, they will be permitted to use our equipment and get more involved in the production process, including possibly shooting, editing, and producing their own videos.
Responsibilities
- Assist our team in shooting and editing “do it yourself” auto repair videos for YouTube at a timely pace while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
- Discover new videography shooting techniques and enhance your knowledge of the fundamentals.
- Gain an additional understanding of videography equipment across all areas of Video Production such as professional camcorders, DSLR cameras, GoPro cameras, lavalier microphones, headphones, lights, tripods, and monopods.
- Improve your post-production video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop to help our team deliver content that benefits our audience.
- Learn how to maintain a high level of efficiency.
- Use and understand Microsoft Office programs.
Qualifications
- Majors/fields of study include, but are not limited to, Video Production, field production, film production, or broadcast.
- Basic knowledge of videography, shooting, and editing fundamentals.
- Must have great communication skills and be able to give and receive critical feedback.
- Must be detailed-oriented, technical savvy, organized, efficient, and creative.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Experience with YouTube and other social media platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of auto parts and auto repair is a plus.
