1. Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree is required, along with at least 8 years of experience. This indicates the candidate should have a solid educational background in a relevant field and substantial professional experience.

2. Clearance Requirement: The candidate must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, indicating a need for a clean background and possibly U.S. citizenship or legal residency.

Role Overview:

As a Video Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and improving NASA’s video distribution network. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of transmitting video packets from their source to the destination while maintaining the highest security protocols. Your work will involve satellite IRD setup, cable running, researching new gear, and designing custom video hardware solutions. An in-depth understanding of current issues and trends in broadcast video and satellite transmission is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, draw, and install video hardware, ensuring seamless video packet transmission from source to destination.

- Manage switches, recorders, monitors, and character generators in a master control environment.

- Perform RF (C and Ku-band) analysis and testing to ensure optimal performance.

- Handle the management and integration of various video sources (SD, HD, UHD, RGB).

- Maintain Satellite and Over the Air VHF/UHF antennas.

- Install and maintain Cable TV technology, including encoders and decoders.

- Lead project management efforts in a technical environment, covering technical, schedule, and budget aspects.

- Research and design new video gear to enhance our Video Engineering solutions.

Specific Skills/Responsibilities:

- Proven experience in Video Engineering with a focus on satellite communications and streaming video.

- Proficiency in managing a master control environment and familiarity with related equipment.

- Strong capability in RF analysis and testing.

- Expertise in managing various video sources and maintaining related hardware.

- Solid project management skills in a multi-disciplined technical setting.

- Installation and maintenance knowledge of structured cabling systems using both copper and fiber infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Deep understanding of digital video content delivery methods, architecture, and technology.

- Advanced knowledge of satellite IRD, cable technology, and the latest trends in broadcast video and satellite transmission.
