Job Responsibilities
The Vice Provost of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) and Accountability is a key leadership position responsible for leading and coordinating the accreditation and assessment process for the college. The VP reports directly to the Provost and provides leadership, expertise, direction, and support for the college's mission, vision, values, and goals. As an administrator and college leader, the VP works to establish IE protocol and retain high-quality IE compliance measures. The VP will drive related strategic planning efforts at the institution level for related college strategies and initiatives. The VP oversees the planning and execution of critical Institutional Effectiveness functions, including accreditation, research, strategic planning, and support of college and system initiatives. The VP will actively promote an organizational culture that values and utilizes data-driven decisions. With focus on continuous improvement and Accountability, the VP champions a comprehensive, collaborative, effective, and inclusive communication and feedback strategy throughout the college community.
Accreditation & Compliance
• Leads a collaborative effort for the successful re-affirmation of the college through SACSCOC.
• Functions as the SACSCOC Liaison, responsible for efficient, effective, and timely communications between the college and SACSCOC and stakeholders within the college. Ensures assignment of roles and responsibilities within the IE Office and broader college in support of required SACSCOC information.
• Ensures a consistent, timely understanding of SACSCOC standards and interpretations; educates the campus-at-large and specific stakeholders as updates, additions, or revisions occur.
• Within SACSCOC responsibilities, facilitates the project and communication planning for each Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
• Drives the IE Office to collaborate with the appropriate academic leadership to provide support, insight, and expertise to departmental accreditation processes.
• Ensures accurate, complete, and timely reporting as requested and required by the federal government, SC state, the SCTCS, and other regulatory bodies. Leadership & Planning
• Collaborates with college senior leadership to assess, develop, and implement strategies and initiatives in support of the college's vision, mission, values, and goals.
• Carries broad responsibility for assessment, accreditation, compliance, and related strategic planning.
• Develops and maintains positive and effective working relationships across the college community to lead and support institutional initiatives, policies, and procedures.
• Leads the IE Office and the campus community to help shape the strategic direction of the college; ensures operational leadership for the IE Office, including things such as recruitment, performance management, coaching, professional development, and communication. Leads the IE staff in assisting others with how to best use and interpret data. College Support Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Including Certifications and/or Licenses). • Builds and maintains relationships across the college to enhance knowledge of current and planned initiatives, policies, processes, and challenges. Uses broad college view and expertise to help ensure the best use of resources, data, and time.
• Leads the IE Office to assess, develop, refine, and respond to data/research requests by individuals or departments within the college.
• Oversees the process for ensuring college policies are updated; maintains the associated schedule and repository.
Additional Responsibilities
• Support programmatic accreditation and licensure approvals.
• Coordinate new program requests and monitor approvals/discontinuation of academic programs.
• Oversee the development and facilitation of professional development for faculty/staff/deans involved in assessment and accreditation.
• Oversee best practices for faculty accountability and engagement.
• Manage operational budgets for areas under purview.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master's degree plus 7 years of progressively responsible related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate Degree in Higher Education Administration or related field. Master's degree may be considered if supported with experience in the discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in Institutional Effectiveness in higher education.
• Experience with SACSCOC Accreditation and Compliance and Leadership and Strategic Planning.
