About this Opportunity:
This position is responsible for implementing Supply Chain best practices at Vantedge Medical’s 7+ site locations. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, order management, demand planning, capacity planning, inventory planning, supply planning, shop floor scheduling, warehousing, and material flow. This individual will help drive proper management of the value chain from the ERP system to the manufacturing floor to final customer. As an operations and Supply Chain focused position, this individual will be responsible for both developing strategy and executing detailed processes and procedures. Therefore, this is a “working leader” role that requires developing strategy and equal focus on executing key tasks. This role will partner with other Supply Chain and operations resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Plant support
    • Support plants in implementing best practices in any Supply Chain area including initial gap analysis for all plants, support in executing improvement efforts and
    • Support talent recruiting, selection and coaching to achieve long term gains in capability and retention.
    • Participate as needed in customer facing meetings such as QBRs, S&OP/SIOP and other business and performance reviews.
  • Order Management
    • Develop standards for order management including acknowledgement, analysis of “capable to promise” lead times and customer communication standards.
  • Master Scheduling (supporting sites implement best practices)
    • Establish and oversee the master scheduling process at the individual site locations and globally.
    • Ensure consistent and visible production expectations that meet the long-term supply plans.
    • Develop methodology and assist site Production Planners with systematic management of work orders and shop floor schedules.
  • Capacity (supporting sites implement best practices)
    • Develop and maintain capacity models (primarily inside ERP) for production and Supply Chains at each manufacturing site.
    • Identify risk to capacity constraints and optimize throughput.
  • Inventory
    • Establish optimal inventory levels necessary for targeted service levels.
    • Develop standards of operation to ensure accurate inventory records.
    • Assist the plants with aggressive inventory plans and projects to achieve targets.
  • S&OP
    • Develop and facilitate the S&OP process, management from the manufacturing sites, Supply Chain and Commercial support departments.
    • Collaborate with the commercial team to establish demand plans.
    • Collaborate with individual sites to establish and maintain long-term supply plans using systematic planning tools.
  • Evaluation and Reporting
    • Develop and present standardized S&OP Metrics to Vantedge Medical’s leadership monthly.
    • Establish standardized graphs, charts, and methods of communicating performance of sites.
    • Analyze financial, costing, and other complex data sets. Identify, analyze, and solve complex problems as they relate to manufacturing, finance or accounting.
    • Establish and report key activities by site to improve overall S&OP performance.
    • Generate performance metrics for Operations to monitor and control production activities.
  • Logistics
    • Maintain relationships with all Vantedge Medical’s logistics providers and carriers.
    • Ensure logistics performance meets the needs of internal and external customers.
    • Owner of freight budget and expedite control policy.
    • Work with finance and our 3 party freight payment provider.
  • Systems
    • Ensure accurate ERP data including safety stock, lead-times and MOQs.
    • Optimize the use of Visual, Kebrite and other systems as needed functionality for Planning, Scheduling, Capacity Analysis, Demand Management, Order Management, Inventory Management, and other Supply Chain functions.
    • Act as subject matter expert for ERP functionality as it relates directly or indirectly to Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
  • Acquisitions
    • Assist and/or lead the integration of Supply Chain activities for any acquisitions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with management and workforces across multiple locations.
  • Communicate complex issues and solutions to multiple audiences including executive management, production management and subject matter experts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience leading transformational improvements in a manufacturing environment required; degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field are preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience scheduling, purchasing and/or managing Logistics in a manufacturing environment. Preferably medical device.
  • 10+ years’ experience in development and implementation of world class Supply Chain business processes & practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams.
  • Strong ERP, MRP and Excel skills with the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
  • Travel 50 – 75%+ (larger percent traveling to San Jose, CA) to support site improvement efforts and on occasion to customer or supplier locations as neeed
